View Full Version : HIDs finally installed
Well after MANY days of waiting impatiently for my HIDs, they have finally arrived. Stupid FedEx took forever, not to mention their website still says they are in a different city, good thing I have that tracking number
Anyways, I know they aren't perfect, but I REALLY like the way it turned out. The light output is soooooooooo much better than stock, and the car looks amazing when it coming at you down the road. Makes my car look 5 years newer :D

Yes I did, this is the 6,500k 9006 Kit.
Installation was a breeze. Everything just clips together, you dont have to do any actual wiring. Install took me and a buddy about an hour and a half, but most of that was mounting the ballasts.

I assume you guys already know, but since two of you have now mentioned you are thinking about buying these, I feel obligated to point out that installing these is illegal.
Now with that out of the way, buy some and take pics

technically for our cars they are. A couple reasons...we don't have autolevelers for them and they're not DOT approved. thas just the tip of the ice berg
Yes I got this kit from that site. Installing HIDs into any car that did not have them from the factory is illegal.
The argument being that the reflectors/projectors designed for halogen lights (which we have stock) do not properly aim the light from an HID bulb. The result is glare (light going above the cutoff) which blinds oncoming drivers. You can see from my pictures that there is indeed some light above the cutoff, however I think I made out pretty good and I've done many tests with my friends driving behind them/by them and they said the lights didn't bother them at all.
Unfortunately, even if you spring for proper HID projectors for your install, it is still illegal.
Now, if you are going to do this anyways (and TONS of people do), the best way to avoid cops is to avoid the blue/purple looking lights. Stick to a bulb temp as close to 4,300k as you can. Personally, that's half the reason I did it, I love that blue look, so I took my chances and went with the 6,500k kit.
