what exactly could make the guage cluster go crazy turning on and off at like a certain rpm?

i thought maybe its bcos i cooked the battery- replaced that. still doesnt work.

i think im about to rip apart the dash and look for a short. but im not too sure where to start.

any help much appreciated

I would check to see if maybe the plugs in the back of the cluster are a little loose maybe? Or arent snapped in all the way

i pulled the whole dash apart using a how to i found. checked the back of the cluster and it was all good. and now since i done that my head lights dont work. its really starting to get to me. but with these kind of problems selling it is not an option without a huge loss

i had the same problem/// ALL it was for me was a stupid plug, i dont know whats its called but if u have an atx v6 the box that pings when you open the door underneath the steering wheel by your brake pedal as a plug, I unplugged that thing and cleaned it up a bit and shook the wires around and when i plugged it back in it werked fine
