before i get into the story i drive an 02 I4 mtx with an intake, short throw, and muffler. so basicly stock performance wise. but i have a carbon fiber wing and green streetglows to make me stand out a bit and get some attention from guys that want to race.
tonight was awesome. i left my room about 45 min ago just to move my car and on the way a little 93-94 civic hatchback passed me. normally no big deal, but this guy reved the sh!t out of his engine as he passed me. i know it was at me cuz i was the only guy on that road. i quickly made a u-turn and found that guy. i followed him for a few blocks then we came to a stop sign and he gunned it. i quickly did the same. i caught up to him quickly. after some more of this bullsh!tting, we came to a stoplight w/ two lanes. i pulled up next to him. he reved up a little bit, but i saw like 6 cops on foot and bike sitting at the intersection. i pointed them out to this guy and when the light turned green we calmly took off the light. we went a couple blocks until we hit another light. i was in the left lane and he was in the right. as the other light at the intersection turned yellow i hear him rev up to about 2-3k ready to launch at green. i reved up a little bit, as much as i usually do when i take off from a stand still. that light went green and he nailed it, that fart can ROARING. i took off quick, but not a real launch. we stayed bumper to bumper until i hit 3rd gear then i pulled about a car ahead of him. i saw some cops up in the distance so i slowed down. the civic saw me slow and did the same. we went down some more back roads taking off at lights and stop signs, but then we found a highway. we were behind some jeep and he turned on b4 i did. this jeep was going like 20-25 on the ramp. as we got to the end of the ramp i heard the civic downshift to 1st. i'm pretty sure he went to 1st cuz i was in second and i assumed he was too. as i heard him shift i heard a the faint sound of a blow-off valve. i thought i was done for but i can't ever turn down a good race. as soon as we got off the ramp we both jumped over to the 2 left lanes. there was no one on the road and we both floored it. since he went down to first and already had about a 3 car lead he had me for a while. then i got in the high rpms in second and third and caught up to him quick. when i got even w/ him i let off a little to stay even w/ him, just to toy w/ him since i knew i had him. he was still hauling ass. i gunned it and pulled up to about a 7-10 car lead. i was amazed after hearing that bov. i guess he either had a small turbo that didn't do much or i heard something else. i slowed up so i could get off at the exit coming up and he flew by me. i changed over to the slow lane to get off and he followed me. when we came to the light he pulled up next to me. his buddy in the passanger seat was laughing and he didn't look too happy. his buddy asked if i had the v6 and when i told him that it was pretty much a stock 4cly he turned to the driver and about died laughing. we went our seperate ways and i drove home w/ a huge grin on my face.
