View Full Version : Is there an official "selling at Indy" thread?

I wanted to see if we could get an official thread for those looking to bring things to Cougarfest to sell. I know that I have my Kam hood, as well as WW kit and commando wing I wish to sell. I would like to see if I can sell them at CF instead of trying to ship these things. Can we sticky this thread?

Only problem I could see would be how someone would get two hoods home, or a full bodykit. Heh...

Will you have any other odds and ends to sell like last year? You came through for me last year with the hood latch, who would've known you'd be selling one and I would need it

No, unfortunatly. I didn't buy any totaled Cougars this year lol. I will again have my box of spare bolts that people can take what they need from for free, but thats probably it.

I took home a Wings West kit that I bought at Cougarfest from Virginia Beach a few years back. It fit no problem at all. Just fold the seats down, and lay your bags in the back around the kit. I've yet to see pics of the hood in the trunk. If someone has them, please post it.....so I know whether or not to bring my Kam hood to sell.

I also have a set of front struts in like new condition, and a Wings West Commando Wing.

Yes, I'll be doing HF installs and I'm recruiting all my prototype pals to be my helpers!

All I ask is that you try to bring your own wire loom and a power switch. Those are not provided with the kits.

I'd like to get a unit count before fest to make sure there are enough and so I know how much install materials I need to bring with me.

I actually just sold it last week. I got lucky that a member from my chapter bought it, to save on the shipping.

I still have the Wings West commando wing, and an 01-02 Wings West body kit....both painted Dark Shadow Gray.

Any interest in my 18" Falken Circuit Spec Wheels?

They're in pretty good shape, but I've lost 2 of the center covers (this picture is from last year's CF trip):
http://newcougar.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=25264&stc=1&d=1151116989
(I'll add close-up pix tomorrow) I'd bring them without tires - the ones on them are too worn to safely drive home from Fest & they'll fit in the car lots more easily without the tires.

(No trades - I just want to sell these and run on my 17's for now.)

GrandMasterKhan

what wheels do you have to replace them Marge?

i will note those are Very attractive wheels!

gulfcat
06-24-2006, 05:34 PM
Right now I'm running on some 17s that started as a loan, and I ended up buying... they don't really have the look I want, but they're lighter weight than the 18s, so I can swap for racing more easily. (It took Peggy & me together to get the 18s on, and it was such a struggle, she only helped once!)

I wnat to take my time and find light-weight 17s that I really like the look of, and I don't have room for 2 stacks of wheels in the garage!!

EternalOne

Just remember that Kenny proved that the majority of your weight is in the tire -- so 18" tires are lighter than 17" tires, depending on the height of the tire.

E1

GrandMasterKhan
06-25-2006, 01:12 AM
yes exactly... turns out 19" tires are the lightest for our application. (assuming same radius and width)

however the rim is also very important, and I am sure your new wheels will be much lighter than your old ones!

actually strangely enough the 18" tires where the heaviest in my calculations (assuming BFG KDW2 tires)

gulfcat

Here are pix of the rims I want to sell- all 4 togeather, then each one:
http://newcougar.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=25270&stc=1&d=1151257737

http://newcougar.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=25274&stc=1&d=1151257737 http://newcougar.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=25272&stc=1&d=1151257737

http://newcougar.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=25273&stc=1&d=1151257737 http://newcougar.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=25271&stc=1&d=1151257737

I'm missing 2 center hub covers. Also, there are small scuffs on some: 2nd & 2rd have marks on the spokes from being set stacked, and 4th has a curb scuff on the outside rim .

Wheels are sold - June 27 - Marge

This is tire brand/model dependant. For the most part, if you are keeping width the same and overall diameter close to constant, the tire weight will remain virtually unchanged.

Kumho Ecsta MX:
225/50/16 - 23lb
225/45/17 - 23lb
225/40/18 - 22lb
235/35/19 - 23lb

Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3:
225/50/16 - 23lb
225/45/17 - 23lb
225/40/18 - 24lb
225/35/19 - 24lb

BF Goodrich g-force KDW2:
225/45/16 - 23lb (not really the proper size)
225/45/17 - 24lb
225/40/18 - 28lb (this number looks a bit suspect)
225/35/19 - 24lb

Heh, I've got data that's rather close to that on most tires, as well...

Of course, mine was made by 3 bored people in a tire warehouse, a CE.Net scanner, and a creative .Net programmer. ;)
