I just find out a lot of NECO chapters are disbanding or splitting up due to personal problems which is too bad. I think Cap NECO is spawning VA NECO and SE NECO is splitting in to Carolina NECO and Florida NECO. This got me thinking how this chapter has never had any problems like that so let's keep it that way.

We have resisted the idea of selecting officers and real official sounding titles because that just becomes an ego trip for someone. However that being said, you are all welcome to make up your own SoCal NECO titles. Lots of positions still open at the Politburo, I believe Minister of Propaganda, Director of Alcohol Security, and Ambassador to Land of Dead Presidents are all still open...

I know that a lot of people get an ego trip for being in charge of something: moderator, chapter anything else. And I do think for the bigger more active chapters, this has caused problems. WI NECO is not like that and they get along great. You guys dont' have anything like that, and you guys seem to get along pretty good and WI and SoCal have the two biggest chapters. You will always have disputes, but you get that w/different persnalities in clubs.

I hope someday that IL NECO will not have the officer rankings. Jenny (the VP) and I have tried to downplay it, but I have to say that it comes in handy to say "I am in charge, so it is my way". But I have only said that to a small number of people. I have also mention NUMEROUS times that IL NECO is OUR club, not "mine". This helps a lot, people think they have a contribuation to the group.

PS I will take the Land of dead presidents position! LOL! I am sure I will do a good job!

it sure does seem that things become a lot less fun when egos (or money) becomes involved....I've never been involved with a group that didn't self-destruct when people that took things too seriously took control...

We still need someone to be the commissioner of major league whiffle ball, minister of webpage intelligence, administrator of veterns affairs (for us old timers), coordinator for cougarfest ('cos we really need one i/expressions/wink.gif ) VP of questionable automotive attachements (for rice patrol) and of course I think we need a round table panel of some sort and a cheif justice of petty disputes and name calling. there is about 40 more positions to be filled, so get cracking. or is that just get crack?

Although our chapter is not very active we are having lots of fun and no disputes. About 9 of us went to the dragway Wednesday and we had a great time!!!
