so I just bought these http://newcougar.org/forums/showthread.php?t=93487 now I need to know what else I should get to make sure everything goes smoothly when trying to put them on. This may sound strange but I've never had anything but stockies.
1. With my heavy system in the back, the rear end of my car already has very little wheel gap. What should I do? Get coilovers and adjust them that way? I believe my springs started squeeking and I would soon need new ones anyway.
2. What size tire do you guys suggest? I don't do as much long distance interstate driving as I used to but still want some rubber between the rims and the road.
Anyone wnat to help me with an of this? I just moved into a friends newly constructed house and now I have room and a driveway. I also have a theater room and a bar about 10ft from my bedroom door.
Any help or suggestions on any of this would be apprecited.

I would go with a set of 225/35/19's to give you a little more rubber than a 215. Also...if you don't have the money or whatever for some coilovers i have some stock springs that only have about 50k on them if you want them. U pay shipping and 20 bucks lol. I'm sure with all that equipment the springs in the rear have sagged a little over time. Or if you need help with the install of some coilovers just let me know and we might could arrange something there as well.

I wouldn't be opposed to getting coilovers but I assume an upgrade of the struts may be in order. I just want to make sure the rubber doesn't rub and the struts and springs/coilovers can handle the wieght.
Basically I'd like to even out my wheel gap if at all possible. It might take me a few weeks to get the cash up but it's definately do-able.
So I've been looking at some tire prices. Anyone have a suggestion on a good place to buy tires for these things. I like BF Goodrich but it seems they only make the g-Force KDW2 in a 225/35/19 and they are about $200 a piece. The rims are also 19x7 so I'm not sure how that affects the numbers but I'm sure it does.

I currently have 215/35/19 Falken Azenis ST115's on mine now. They were "alright"...but when the time comes for some new tires, which is soon, i'll be getting the 225/35/19 Parada Spec II's. I had them on my 18's and loved them so i think i am gonna go back to them for at least a set of tires and see how i like them on my 19's. A good place to get them would either be www.tires.com or www.tirerack.com.

I posted a thread in the wheels and tires section after reading a couple of yours over there.

with your system set up i would say some strut upgrades are in order no matter what spring set up you get. those wheels look hot and with a little bit of a drop on the car itll look great!

I am very excited about getting it all done but I do want to do it right the first time. I figured at the moment I do have the original struts and springs and have had the car since it was brand new. The same system has also been in the car for nearly four years. So I was guessing the struts would need to be replaced.
As far as which coilovers and struts, do you guys think there really is a difference? They can get expensive but is it worth it? I do plan on having the car for a long time and keeping after I gradute in December and get a new car eventually. It's going to be my "play" car.

unlless you have the money for the d2 system, id say konis and ground control if you were going coilover set up. do you have any pics of how your car sits now?

This is the best picture I have at the moment. I will have to take another shot or two but I just got done moving so I have to find my camera.
Cripsy suggested I go with a 215/35/19 and granted it's tempting because it's cheaper but I don't want to be riding on the rim. I also want them to be able to support all the weight of a possible car load of people. It seems most 215's are rated at 85 (1,135lbs).
BTW: I checked that group buy on the D2 system and it seems they are having some trouble with the manufacteur. But with it costing $1000 for the coilover/strut setup and GC/Koni at $400+$600 why would you wna to go with the GC/Koni if the D2 is so much better.
Also I don't know if I need something this intense. I won't be racing the car, I just want it to have a nice stance.

nothing against crispy....but....i wouldnt put a 215 tire on something that is gunna have that much weight, your putting your new investment at risk of bending if hitting a pot hole.

In the thread I started in the wheels and tires area Kenny (GrandmasterKahn) also said 215's would be ok. I'm thinking that the BF Goodrich g-Force KDW2 tires would be a nice set.
However, I'm not sure they are taking into account the weight of the system. I guess I'm going to go find a shop and ask their opinion also.... nothing against anyone here.
This may be a stupid question but has anyone ever just cut down the stock springs? I don't need coilovers, I just thought they would help me correct my wheel gap. I think the rear at the moment is at a good height and the new rim/tire combo should be about the same size overall.

ok what about the KYB GR-2 gas struts? would they work with coilovers or lowering springs? or do the Struts have to be adjustable?
What if I got the new struts and some lowering springs and just used stock springs on the rear and the lowered ones on the front?
I'm just trying to figure out how to do this without spending $1000 and not going totally ghetto.

What else will I need when I/we go to install everything? The rims came today and they have valve stems. What else do I need? I know this may sound stupid, but I don't know what the hell I'm doing to be honest.
Will I need hubcentric rings? Should I get different lugs? What about for the coilovers and the struts? Certain mounts?
Seriously whoever wants to help me do this when the time comes, I will buy the food and the booze.

You will need to get a different set of locking lug nuts...the stock ones will prolly not fit in the wholes in the 19's.....and they would look stupid. Call tires.com or some place like that. They usually have lugs for a buck apiece or somewhere about that. You could prolly call whomoever made the wheels and get hubcentric rings for them. Or maybe SPMotorsports has some for them. That is where i got my wheels from...and i think that is where these originally came from. For the coilovers and the sturts...if you get G/C's i would get nothing but Koni's with them. If you get some other type of lowering spring Koni is still not a bad choice but you could prolly go with the KYB's and get away with it. I would also get new strut mounts for all four corners while you have it all apart. IF you call Bill J. @ www.teamfordparts.com he will hook you up with the strut mounts. Oh...and since i don't drink i require mucho Mountain Dew!

Sweet, I'll get on it. I'm about to go and check out the AJC Auto Show down at the world Congress Center. There should be some vendors down there that I can talk to about stuff. If I have any more questions I'll be sure to ask.
I can do the Dew no problem
