Check the Wheels tires and Brakes FAQ. You'll need parts from a junked Cougar with rear disc brakes.

that is correct... if you want to buy the parts new, its something like 870 bucks and that doesnt include rotors or pads.

I hate my drums too, but not 870 bucks hate them.
but I finially managed to get some junked parts on cheap, so soon I'll have mine swapped.

Contours should be the same, just double check your brake hoses on the rear if you use the ones from a contour. The end that connects the the hard line might be different than yours. I stress MIGHT. Depending on when your cougar was built in the 99MY.

Also if you want to keep your ABS (if you have it) you have to find a junker with ABS!!

welll I am almost done with my swap [cant remove the frickin brake line.... but the knuckels and rotors and stuff are mounted].

I used all contour parts for my swap so you shouldnt have a problem [but I dont know about the brake lines yet].

hey, did anyone else have problems removing their heat shield to get to the ebrake cables... I cant frickin get one of those nuts off for the life of me.
