Had anybody tried installing those electric superchargers? It’s looks untrue that It can add any horsepower. Or maybe it works. I am just curious.

its an electric air blower for a boat. No it wont add power. Do it and tell us all how much hp it adds. It will flow a tiny volume of air. Not enough to make a difference. A leafblower will though

Works like a charm. I gained at least 40 FWHP when I installed mine.

 if you look at the sellers other items, theyre selling the rest of their fishing equipment with the blower.

You gained 40 FW skunk power.

No, I installed fake carbon fiber vinyl all over my car at the same time too, so it went from FWSP to FWHP.

wow for all the things I've seen on ebay that guy actually makes semi-credible hp gains. ya I wouldnt be suprised at all if you could get 5+ hp out of it [but not much more than that].

although the downside is that electric motor they are using is absolutely lethargic... the radiator fan motors in your car will put out significantly more power than that thing will.

i believe THIS TYPE (http://www.electricsupercharger.com/) actually may work - the heater motor fan in that auction isnt likely to do much.

Yeah it works awesome! Go ask Nafanu! He has one and loves it! He sometimes removes it and sleeps with, but only when he isnt sleeping with his boyfriend.

Even the "Real" electric supercharger you posted puts out 1-1.7 psi. Thats not crap. HAHA they string them inline to get 1.7 psi. Kiss my ass $500

or you could use that 500 to buy you a nice Zex kit.

Hmmm... Thinking of low money DIY mods, would it be possible to get a junked turbo, take off the intake part of it and connect a pulley to the shaft and the other to an axle of some sort to spin the turbo? Then when going high speeds it'd be spinning the turbine, which would be forcing air into the intake... You'd definately need a wastegate or some sort of valve to prevent too much going into the engine, that is if the turbo would even spool up enough to force air into the engine... Anyway, it's just a thought... Maybe even having some sort of gearing in it to make it top out only so high so at 108mph it's completely maxed out, so it doesn't destroy the turbine...

I think I put way too much thought into this...

you just described a supercharger (compressor thats driven by a belt) and then you added some stuff i cant even picture working.....

There are people and places that convert turbos to superchargers...

They basically use the compressor housing and wheel, and remove the bearing cartridge and trubine housing and bolt it up to a custom cartridge that has a pully on the end of it...

The SC kit from Jeff Knight uses this method. It reduces the cost of the blower it self... rather than spending $1500+ for a new blower, you used one of these for half the cost (or less).

I've been considering trying to custom fab one, but I am far from mechanically inclined. Also I have no idea how gearing would work to spin the turbine fast enough to get boost.

if you are not mechanically inclined, i would strongly suggest you NOT attempt this custom fab.
