I was undecided between LI NECO and here.
Anyway:

Sept 16th/17th weekend the Sox and Pats will be invading the area, and so will my husband and I to check out some kick ass MLB/NFL action (our yearly ritual).

Any hotels you all could recommend would be much appreciated.
We will most likely drive down Friday night, check into hotel, and leave Sunday night, maybe Monday morning.

So we're looking for decent price, good location for public transportation to get to both stadiums, and perhaps underground parking for the car.
We're also not throwing out the idea to hit up a train station north of the city (somewhere in CT?) and taking that in, if possible.

I'll be checking some of the usual online hotel places, but your input would definitey be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

What price range are you looking at??

Any hotel in times square would be fine. Right near Port Authority if you wanna take the bus to NJ to go to Giant's Stadium, and a hop on the subway (B (week days only) or D (anytime)) to Yankee Stadium...

The Mariott Marquis Times Square is a nice place... has a rotating restaurant at the top. They do a Sunday Brunch up there iirc, but it is like $30+ per person.

I;ve stayed there a few times, and prices were not bad. They have a garage w/ valet parking if I remember correctly.

Plus you're in the middle of anything you may want to do... many great restaurants in midtown.

cool

I guess our price range is about $130ish per night, for a two night stay.
Someone else recommended we stay in the medowlands area and just commute in for the yankees game.
So I'm looking at hotels out there.
So many to choose from!!
I'm kinda looking at Quality Inn, roughly southwest of Giants Stadium.

Well... I have to recomend against driving into NY for a yankee game. It's one crappy drive. Plus there's not much to do around the meadowlands complex. Staying in NYC would be much more fun, and probably not be too much more than staying in NJ.

Just my opinion...

once we get to the hotel, the car is staying in the parking lot until we go home.
No way in heck I'd drive in the city. I don't do it in Boston, so there's no way I'd do it in NY.

thanks for the input! :)

Looks like our travel companion decided to change his mind.
We're now thinking of driving just to CT and getting a hotel near the train station, so we can commute from the north down to the games and whatever else we end up doing.
That will definitely cut down on our drive Friday night.

So I guess I'm just going to go with whatever he decides.
He also wants to do tailgaiting at the football game, which means we're considering making a drive down there from the hotel, and then back home straight after the game.

bleh

sorry I wasted your time. I didn't realize he was going to disregard all the advice he asked me to collect.
