I thought I'd try here first before going to the brake thread.
I want to upgrade my stock brake pads (4 wheel disk) with as high performance a set as possible without losing everyday street driving, esp. COLD temperature, performance.
Satisfied has GranSport 5s but, only for the front brakes= imbalance.
EBC Greenstuff, Mintex street A/F, and Hawk HPS talk about good street performance but, how do these compare to stock pads?
Any others out there I'm missing?
Thanks.
PS, I drive G-stock (TGS) so no other upgraded brake components allowed!

While I have no comparison other than from Stock, I've used Mintex pads
almost from the get go, good performance, work well for autocross, and even track, I get goo wear out of them as well, as a side note, I have not warped or glazed my rotors ever(glazed them when I had stock pads)

i know atomicinternet had greenstuff pads and warped the hell outta his rotors. I had good results with the stock pads, even with over 130k on the stock rotors

Stock pads and rotors work pretty well... long as you don't drop the entire weight of the car on the rotor.... :cover:
One other thing you could try is stainless steel braided brake lines, supposedly they take some of the expansion out of the system so more of your fluid force goes directly to the caliper piston.

I've run stock pads, Mintex AFs, Mintex 1144s and KVR Carbon Fibres.
I never really like the feel of the KVRs. The AFs seemed to be comparable to stock (which really are pretty good). I really like the 1144s though. They don't take much heat to work well (mine are warm enough by the time I get out of the subdivision). The downside is that they can feel a little grabby until you get used to them.

As long as that eye isn't looking through a heads up display while an AGM-65 is tracking in on my exhaust, I think I'll take my chances Tom.

AIM-9s lock in on heat sources nicely, but as the name indicates, they aren't meant to be used on ground targets.

Thats why they have rotary cannons firing 25mm rounds and air to ground 2.75" rockets.

I'm sure Heather locks on to you nicely no matter if you're on air, land or sea.

Sad part is Ryan is saying all this and he met Heather one time. Nothing like getting stuck in the back of Heather's cougar, with a grover doll sticking up my ass, as E1 and Nuttywonder roll by cranking some gansta rap. Reagan reaches over and cranks out "SUNNNYYY DAAAYYY !!!!!!" from the CD player.

Mintex A/F
I get them from http://www.batinc.net/contour.htm
Pretty good pricing too, I've only gone through 4 sets on regular rotors IIRC

yes BAT does have good pricing, that and they have supported our car well.
