Recently put exhaust on my coug, its a borla system, and doesn't sound loud...at all? also is it normal for the wrench light to come on after putting in aftermarket exhaust and intake? also, for all u audio ppl out there, ne one kno why the subs would work at full power when i first turn the car on, but then as soon as ive been driving for a short while they power to them cuts right down, its not that they're not working at all after a while, its just that the power to them is not even close to where it should be at?
thx guys!

The yellow wrench comes on every 4700 miles(IIRC) just to try and get you to go to the dealer for servicing.... i forget the sequence but you can press the computer buttons correctly to shut it off.
Did you put on headers also or just a cat back exhaust?

Press UNITS and SELECT and hold them down for like 5 seconds. The wrench light will go out.

the wrench can be turned off with the buttons on the dash, its in the manual i forget the sequence, and the battery might not be enough to power your car and the system you might want to run a second battery, a more powerful one (yellowtop), or a high output alternator

Road noise also plays a part in your system sounding less loud after driving around.

Theres no problem with power going to your system, your ears are just going bad because your **** vibrates them too much

thx guys, im actually gonna try replacing the fuse near the battery, my buddy says that apparently h has the same problem every couple months and that fixes it

Never heard of that before! :(
Either a fuse works or it doesn't work, there is no middle ground!

sounds to me like the thermal protection circuitry on the amp is kicking in reducing the power. its not a fuse problem. like maverickflyer said : a fuse is either good or its blown.

Make sure your friend knows the definition of ohms. If not, find smarter friends to do your electrical work.

You found one of the original borla systems?? Not a Trubendz w/ borla?
The sound will probably evolve after soot builds up in the system but i dont know about getting louder. Personally I'd be happy with it, I like having a quiet system. Not so its SILENT like Oem but not so loud that I have to elevate my voice at all. As long as its 2.5" at least until it splits at the back (if duals) then be happy.

Also, you might consider the routing of the wires. It there are lots of wires run along the same rout as the power wire there might be a lot of heat build-up or interferance from that.

interference, possibly. This would merely result in an electrical 'hum' from the sub at most.
but wire-heat buildup... im sorry but I cant see that happening. If the power wire was heating up too much it would be because its too small a gauge for the power the amp is demanding, not having anything to do with what wires are surrounding it. If the power feed IS getting too hot, resistance wouldnt go up because of it until the fibers started to melt together, long after the jacket melted off allowing it to short to the closest ground possible in which case the amp would turn off and youd have bigger problems to worry about. its probably either a crummy amp or a poor ground, the latter being most likely IMO.

well theres alot of smart people already giving ideas but if none of those r the culprit then if u have a power wire that turns the amp on and off , if its not attached properly then it may be cuaseing it to turn off at random times, i found that i had it happen to mine....

And if all else Fells, Just go 1 wire at a time & re-tighten them & maybe find a better ground. So wheres your Ground grounded? & when your system is @ 100% before it starts going out how hard does your lights flicker & dim?
