Hi all, was so please to come across this forum, makes it a bit easier for us distant Cougar owners to source some of our troubles/remedies, Cougar Accessories/Parts are very hard to come by in Oz, say the word Cougar to a mechanic or a auto parts store here and all you get is a blank look, but owning and driving a Cougar soon makes up for it, due to the limited numbers sold out here they aren't a "bum" car ( everyone’s got one ) so they tend to turn a few heads, would be great to hear from the fellow Oz Cougar owners, anyhow keep up the good work.

Another Aussie member, but another Sydney-sider too! Welcome to the boards.

I can sympathise with going to a store, asking for a part for a Cougar and getting the dumb expressions and "a what???" remarks. This place has helped a fair bit!

There are a few other Aussie members here such as ProfessorSabre, and a few others I don't remember their names as they're not regulars.

Hi Moraki, so my mechanic recons, the compliance plate has both German and English on it, I think I also read some where else that all the European/Aust export models where made in Germany

All Aussie Cougar's as far as I'm aware are German made. Makes sense since the Euro Cougar's catered for both left and right hand drive. Aussie Cougar's also came with climate control which I think is found in the Euro's. Mine also has German print throughout the engine bay.

Unlike the northern hemisphere though, Australia only got the V6's and only between 1999 and 2001.
