I got the official word today that Brown's Lincoln-Mercury is soon to be no more. The owners sold the buildings to Ourisman who will make it a Toyota dealership. *sigh* Now I'll have to schlep all the way out to Cherner. :banghead:

Seriously though that sucks.
Good thing the good ol' boys at Rick Hunt are still near me... But that'd be a helluva trip for you, "Cap. Freeeeeaaaak"! ;)

Isn't Rick Hunt a Ford place? I guess I could always take my car to Ted Britt Ford. It's even closer than Brown's! The thing that blows is that we JUST BOUGHT a car from Brown's!

I didn't think there was a shortage of FoMoCo dealers in the area...?
Last time my Contour (my previous one, the '95er) was in a dealer service bay, they blew up a car six bays over.
Yikes.
Yes, Rick Hunt is a Ford place. But they're fairly "Mod friendly", and can work on all Ford products ('cept those bastard child European brands that Ford bought to mask the fact that they're hemoraging money 'cause their cars for the most part suck a$$ and corporate can't get their collective heads out of their collective a$$es and dump the unions that are sapping all but the most meager of profits from their products due to overpaying underachieving plant workers and a corrupt union mentality since unions aren't really about their workers anymore so much as they are a political machine for bettering causes of things that have nothing to do with the workers' well-being and I can really go on and on about this but this is the longest run-on parenthetical sentence I've ever written and it's time to get the hell off my soapbox...)

Why don't you tell us what you REALLY think? ;)

Yikes is right. I went in to pick my car up (99M03 recall, which turned into an eight-week ordeal), and found out that some mechanic had managed to drop (well, it fell off a bench) a not-empty fuel tank from a Sable onto a battery, the contacts made contact, and WHOOMPF. Destroyed three cars and shut down operations for the day. I found soot inside my car when I finally got it back.

Yes, go to Ted Britt Ford! They did quite a bit on the Cougar, and they did quite a bit for me over the years. Go over there and ask for Gary next time you need help, he'll take care of ya

Just don't ask Ted Britt for parts, right Dan? I distinctly remember waiting outside the dealership for you while dealing w/ the debacle parts dept.
Yes indeed- Apparently it doesn't occur to their parts counter that folks walk in and actually KNOW what they want and how to ask for it.
