why didn't you mold the trim ring into the piece also?
looks a lot better in my opinion
nice work though on what you did

The bezel isnt for me...he never asked me for that and how do you squeeze the deck through the bezel if is molded in?

it would look nice but i have no idea how you would change the deck or anything though...

thanxs for the compliments..

question one, the magic of fiberglass.

question two, painting is a little hit or miss for me...more miss then hit..but this is my second time with this new primer product and it is considerably better then the previous one i had been using..so i think painting may be a little easier now...just have to get a new paint gun...mine is all gummed up from spraying laquer, and forgetting to clean it..

how much would you charge for this.

that would be incredibly hard to replicate with fiberglass..now if i had an plastic injection mold to my disposal things would be different...i am sure it could be done...but i wouldnt want to guess on the chances...that would definately require a mold to be made...

but hey with the right pieces and financing i am willing to try anything...lol

I've fixed my dash like that about a month ago and have been planning on putting some pics on here, I'll try to take some pics tomorrow that aren't too big to upload on here.

Here's a few pics, I haven't glued the hvac controls in place cause I'm planning on getting them changed to blue first.http://newcougar.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=22942&stc=1&d=1139856614

And also, the plastic piece that you put a screw in that goes behind the rear defrost (If you'll look at a pic of the first bezel of this thread you'll see what I'm talkin about) is broke and theres a big gap between the bezel and the dash. Any ideas of how to make it stay closer? Here's a couple of pics of what I'm talkin about.

i have the same problem with my fiberglassed dash piece. Its annoying as hell but because of my plexiglass front plate i'm not able to screw it in :banghead:

man you gotta hook me up with something like that.

if this was my piece:
option #1:
i'd throw a little fiberglass and kity hair behind there to make a nice hard piece i could screw down... then i'd drill it out so i could screw it in.

option #2:
try homedepot or something, to find a plastic piece around the lenth and width of what you need for the screw ... get some hard as nails or something of the sort and glue it to the place.then get a drill and drill out the hole

thats just my guess, ... i'm assuming both would work ...

I'd done tried putting a piece of plastic there with some super glue, but it wasn't Hard As Nails. I might try that again. Could you be a little more specific what you're sayin about the fiberglass and kitty hair? Thanx for the help.

fiberglass or kitty hair wnt work like that....your best bet would be some JB weld or some fusor...or an ABS repair product.....i assume you mean the little tiny piece of plastic directly behind the rear defrost button...only thing i can think of to do is use a washer...since it is not a post but rather a little plastic tab...glue a thin metal washer on top of it and you should be good...

P.S. dirty thread jackers.....LOL
