I'm looking for a cheap way for a little gain (30-40hp), anyone know what the cheapest way would be to go with a turbo? Would it be possible to run without an intercooler on a stock engine, or would the temperature get way too hot even running on a low amount of boost? (~4 psi). Also, is a boost controller a necesity for a turbo kit? I'm pretty new to this, but I have a friend who works for an exhaust shop and said he'd help me out with piping for next to nothing cost wise. I figure I'll get a turbo and have him figure out the piping and what not. I'd like to spend under $1500 in all. Anyone have suggestions? Or estimates of what I'll need to run without an intercooler if that is possible?

By the way, I have the zetec (2.0L i4) with about 20,000 miles on the engine.

Has anyone heard of a Garrett T2? Some guy in another forum was talking about using it on his Nissan 240sx. It's built for smaller engines (lawn mowers, etc..)

Turbomustangs has threads about tiny turbos too. I cant recommend the site enough.

Could someone make a list for me as for exactly what parts I'll need to make a semi-efficient turbo kit set up for my zetec? I know I'll need a turbo, wastegate, intercooler, bov, turbo manifold, a chip and plenty of piping? That's all right?

you'll need to be fairly inclined mechanically also. Afterhours has a turbo zetec, which is awesome if you ask me
