what would be symptoms?
ever since i went into my project of the build and what not about a year ago, i got my optima red top. when it sat in the car in the garage i would listen to my cd player while i worked on the car. eventually it would drain the battery, and i would recharge it with my portable Die Hard battery recharger/jump starter.
i always left that thing on a 12A charge until it charged the battery completely and then the charger would do its automatic shut off when the battery is done charging.
well, its been amost a year and this morning i went out to try and start the car again and this time the battery was dead. i recharged it about 2 weeks ago and maybe listened to music once for about 5 minutes if that.
keep in mind i started and ran the car for about 2 minutes 1 week ago and stopped when the PS pump leaked everywhere. i havent been in the car since then.
I went thru every possible visible wire for exposure/damage and ive seen nothing. there were no random sparks or bursts last week when i fired the car up, and as stated before i havent used hardly any electricity since then.
now when i put my charger on the battery it refusues to charge.....or goes into "special battery mode" and doesnt really charge at all.
my only guess is i ruined the battery from so many drains and recharges.....
thoughts?
