I was coming home from lunch with my wife, and this idiot (family forum:biggrin: ) does a ricer fly-by in his Spec V. good job, buddy! I would have left him alone, but he cuts me off, slams on his brakes, and flips on his flashers. I thinkin' WTF? Was I just in a race and didn't know it? Anyway, We hit the next red, I lean out the window and say, "Feel better about yourself?" Needless to say, my sarcasm does NOT escape him and he proceeds with the, "Your car sucks...:blah: " and commences to farting at me with his car. I smile, settle back, hold it at about 3k and wait. He revs his to the stratosphere and I can hear him bounce off his rev limiter a few times. Green light, I pull a quick 2 lengths, 2nd gear expand to about 3.5, 3rd gear 4.5 shut down at 75 and brakes(Speed limit is 55. I may race, but I try not to put other people in jeopardy.) Then comes the usual ricer fly-by. We hit the next red and he wants to go again, but I think I proved my point. To add insult to injury, about 2 miles down the road, he's pulled over. LOL.

What have you done to your car? Spec V's are def. faster then us stock, although we might have them on the top end...I dunno. Either way I hate people like that period, effing assholes. I hate seeing people disrespect decent cars, because I like the Spec V's.

People like that are funny to me. That's awesome that the diptihs got pulled over.

Like InnovaZero, I'd like to know what you've got done to your car. Also, what year do you think his car was? That would definately be a very hard race stock for stock.

SE-r Spec V's really aren't very fast...

Plus as always, when it comes down to 2 cars that are within .5-.7 sec in the magazine rated 1/4 miles... a difference in driver skill makes all the difference in the world. A better launch by one or the other, or 1 missed shift by the sentra, and the cougar takes it by plenty.

Also, gotta think of weight additions to a car like stereo equip, rims etc. I see plenty of spec V's with additional weight, larger heavier rims, etc... you know the best they could run is a 16 with what they got.

Good job either way...

oh no doubt, driver does make a difference, and the way this guy sounded..he sucked so bad at driving that a good running atx v6 could of taken him from a roll. (k maybe not, but a Intake/Exhaust one haha)

But all things considered, a Spec V with a good driver gives a RSX type S a run for its money, which is why those two where such competetors. They also benefit well from bolt on's. I've seen I/E spec V's run high 14's. Good power from a beefy I-4 (with similar technology from the VQ35 mind you) plus 2700 weight. It's pretty damn quick.

Plus take in account that the Spec V driver was revving to the limiter
before the green he probably roasted his tires on take off like the total
moron he is.

Nice kill sounds like the guys was an a-hole!

i almost bought a Spec V. it was definately a quick little car. the engine is very responsive and the 6 speed gearbox shifts oh so smooth. stock for stock the edge definately goes to the spec-v. the guy seems like a crappy driver if he's bouncing it off the rev limiter like that. good kill nonetheless.

Fun little cars and can be pretty decent performers. I would consider them a well designed and thought out design.

When I was at edgewater a couple months ago, i lined up against a SE-R Spec V and Lost...at the time i had Intake, and SVT UIM (no TB and Stock exhaust)

The Spec V had an Intake and catback exhaust

I ran a 15.9 he ran a 15.4

I believe it was about 90 degrees outside and typical Ohio Valley humidity

So yeah, Nice kill :)

ill bet he just has the basic sentra cloned to look like the Spec V. Unless you have alot done to the car there is no way you could jump on him that much. did you see him wheel hopping it off the launch at all? thats the best way to tell a ttrue Spec V bcos they wheel hop like a *****. they wheel hop on the 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd shift too.

yeah man. nice... i agree though driver does make a difference.. my mother had an SER spec v, i own a v6 ATX... gotta say top end the cougar would have it but those sentra's are quick off the line. well maybe not if your bouncing the rev limiter ( IDIOT). i know from experience those cars just wanna sit there and spin. even with the limited slip... i always wondered if i could take the spec v, ill just have to wait and find out.
