I have a set of Phoenix Gold tweeters and I was wondering if it was possible to flush mount them on the plastic piece covering the side mirror nuts? If not I'm open to suggestions.

Yeah, that's been done. Depending on how "bright/harsh" the tweeters are, I would recommend the spot that I have them. Before I moved the tweeters, they were seated directly below and a little bit in front of the 5x7/fabbed 6.5" factory location. I've got Alpine Type-R 6.5" components. When they were down by the 6.5" they sounded great. But, when I moved them to my current location, the change in SQ was drastic --> the better. They are very "lush" sounding speakers/tweeters, so I was able to place them closer to my listening position without causing any "harshness." In the pic, you'll see where I placed mine and then the X's are where I've heard of other people placing their's. I played around with tweeter (music playing) by moving it around those different postions. The best fitment/SQ I found was where I placed them. Hope that helps.

thats where I have mine also. You could also make some kicks and put them down there. But that would require a lot of aiming and work to get them to sound right.

I would have done the tweeters in that location however i could not angle them enough for the best imaging for the driver.

It is however the best solution IMO for most people.
