I been checking here, and I see that a SVT lower and upper Intake is a recommended performace swap. I checked car-part.com and when I search for the UIM for an SVT Contour, it shows 2001-2002 Cougars? Did they use the same UIM as the SVT Contours, and possibly the same LIM. Thanks

no and yes. Cougars 5/99+ share the same lower LIMs as the SVT. The reason they show Cougar results in Car-parts is because we share the same platform vehicle where parts instead of individually listed get tossed into a collective section for parts. For example Contour/Cougar, we have the same V6 engine, but they may not mention SVT when inventorying the parts..So instead of it being singled out, it gets grouped with the majority.

I have the best luck by searching for 1998 Ford Contour Intake. Then explicitly search for SVT Upper. Any that show up in your previous search as "Cougar" will not be the SVT intake.

The SVT intakes regulary pop up in the FS section.

You beat me too it. To add to that, look for 98, 99, and 00.

The 2000 is the best purchase, as it permits slightly higher flow than the previous year UIM's. You'll find the 98's the cheapest though. I picked mine up for $175, and the difference in flow doesnt matter too much as its getting extrude honed shortly.
