I read that. I was going to post it. Another reason to be smart about what you do behind the wheel.

Street racing is so stupid. If you are going to race other places other than a track make sure your life and the guy beside you are the only two at risk. Thats what we do. Go to an old highway that has no traffic after like 9pm and race there. Over a mile of straight road with shoulders and can see headlights coming from over 2 or 3 miles. Racing down busy streets is extremely stupid.

(not saying what we do isn't, but at least it keeps innocent people from being hurt)

Thats a loaded comment if I've ever seen one. The ONLY place you should be racing is at a track. Public highways and streets are an absolute negative. As soon as you turn your ignition on, everyone around you becomes at risk. Not just you behind the wheel, regardless of how late or how empty you THINK the area is. Your'e not invicible and the others around you aren't made of steel.

As for those idiots, I'm with predator on this one..why lie about it?? it was obvious and there were witnesses..

I agree with you when you say its not safe, but the nearest track is like 1.5 hrs from here and we usually have about 3 or 4 races. We are being as safe as possible. Races have been going on in this area for at least 5 years. People know what they are doing and what to expect.

All cars park on shoulder and then the two cars racing start about 4 car links in front of everyone else. They DO NOT race back towards the people. For "street racing" I'm not sure if it can get any safer. HA

I agree, it's the same thing here but the nearest track is more like 2.5 hours away. We do the same thing up here, safer the better.

But really, a clinic?? both drivers should be shot. I hope the catch the hoser in the Lincoln.

Thats how I liked doing it around Phoenix. We'd go way out into BFE in the desert and race. I probably won't do much of it at all now, I've found a Focus group around town that goes up into the mountains about once a month and does cruises that would suite my fancy alot more than racing in a straight line for 15-20 seconds.

I don't get it! Anytime I ever went to a street race it was at 3:00 in the morning on a deserted industrial road or something. Not on a busy main street where people are all around you. These idiots deserve to die or goto jail for life. Not that what I did was right but at least we did it somewhat safely.

Only problem we have is when a car comes everyone freaks out because it could be a cop and we have no way of knowing it. Everyone bails after like 2 races.
