A '03 Cobra has a 0-60 time of 4.5 sec. A 02 Camaro z28 SS has a 0-60 time of 5.2!!! Hell, a 04 SRT-4 has a 0-60 time of 5.3!!! I think Ford has done just fine with the Cobra.

My uncle had a 5.0 mustang back in the day, sold that and got a 96 Z28 6 speed the whole deal, needless to say the z28 always seemed faster...maybe this is why i dont like them that much? plus most of my family are chevy people.

Ok bud it's time for school. the most a standard GT 5.0 had was 225. so trade that in on 96 Z with 305 or 320 and well yeah it's gonna feel faster eh? now throw 10 grand in the 5.0 and 10 grand in the Z and the 5.0 will walk on it all day long. their potential plus the affordableness of upgrades is phenominal.

03-04 Cobras are by far the best bang for buck vehicle on the road probobly. 1500 dollars and you get 100 additional rear wheel horsepower. they are 4.6L DOHC SUpercharged engines. the block and internals are good to 1000 plus horsepower. they are equipped with a 6 speed trans. they are advertised at 390 hp and 390 tq. in all actuality with proper break in stock cobras were dynoing well north of 425. take a stock cobra and swap on a kenne bell supercharger in place of the eaton and were talking 6-700 hp. so no those cars at least not all of them were stock. but neither were the cars there running. those cars aren't called terminators for nothing.

NICE vid. yeah Ford all the way, thoes Cobra's are quick. Mustangs are your best bang for your buck $35,000 for 300hp ('06's) compared to a base Vette starting at $67,000. If you spent the same ammout of money on a Mustang as you would on a Vette it would be untouchable.

The Cobra is one of the primary reasons that the NHRA softened its rules on needing a roll cage. Bone stock 03+ Cobra's run low 12's. Mildly modded run 11's easy. There's your 1/4 times, still think its a "Pusstang"??:rolleyes:

90-92 GT/LX 5.0 (5.0L Pushrod V8): 225hp/300tq
93-95 GT (5.0L Pushrod V8): 215hp/300tq (for some reason Ford rated it lower but its really about the same as the 90-92)
96-98 GT (4.6L SOHC V8): 215hp/285tq
96-98 Cobra (4.6L DOHC V8): 305hp/300tq
99 GT (4.6L SOHC V8): 260hp/300tq
99-01 Cobra (4.6L DOHC V8): 320hp/320tq
2001 Bullitt (4.6L SOHC V8): 265hp/305tq
00-04 GT (4.6L SOHC V8): 260hp/302tq
03 Mach 1 (4.6L SOHC V8): 305hp/320tq
04 Mach 1 (4.6L SOHC V8): 310hp/335tq

it's totally cool that you have your own preference but know the facts man. and no it was not a factory option. every single 03-04 cobra came from the factory supercharged and bullit proof.

If you pay attention to the time on the player...that is 0 to 160mph in a little under 12 seconds. I am not sure what you guys drive, but that is faster than anything I have come across in a long time...especially as stock looking as the Cobra was.

I love em. My buddy just traded his 351 motor for an 03 Cobra motor to put in his 96 Cobra! He also just put an 03 Cobra motor in his wifes GT Convertible! This guy works for Multimatic Motorsports so he knows what he's doing!

A Cobra will outcorner a Cougar unless it has a drag suspension on it. The Cougar handles well, but it isn't a benchmark.

That was SVTdubs' car on SVTP. He had a KB 2.4L S/C @ ~19lbs on that run I think. He also sprays but not on that run. On the spray I think he down like 800-900rwhp IIRC. He just recently built his motor w/ a new turbo kit coming out featuring a GT47-80 Garrett unit. He's shooting for at least 1200rwhp @ 26psi on a higher octane fuel.

A stock cobra vert. weighs 3900lbs, he had 2 female passengers so thats prob like another 220lbs plus his camera guy who is probably another 200lbs give or take.

They have different hoods, front bumpers and rear bumpers that say COBRA in big letters. theres dual exhaust instead of single exhaust, and different side scoops. what more do you want them to change? believe me you can tell a V8 stang over a V6 a mile away. they have a different stance and wider meats.
