Hey guys, i am currentally sitting with a dead alternator, and i was wondering which alternator have you guys had good luck with? I am looking at either going for 130 amp or a 200 amp, depending on price. I would like to stick to a 130 amp but i am open for imput. I am looking to get something other than a crappy one from ford. anything you guys know would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Yea i think i am going to go with a durmax Gold, they are pretty cheap about 179-200 bucks and they do have that lifetime warranty which i am sure i will be going back to use. I would like to stay away from re-builds and get something with a warranty. With all the searching i have been doing on alternators, many people have had replacements a lot more than just once! haha gotta love fords crappy alternators!

Exactly why to get a rebuild (which often times come wiht 1 year warranties) but they do the work and take care of the problems if they are an experianced alt. rebuilder

That h.o. alt. is 220 amps:bowdown:
I think my alt is going out. All my lights are dimming when brakes are pressed. I don't even have a system (sub) in.
I also heard that you can get the oem alt rebuilt to higher power too.

Yes you can get it rebuilt but why? Its still going to be a crappy oem one, and eventhough you might have higher power you might as well spend a bit more and get a fresh one that is not a Ford p.o.s like the ones we have in our cars!
