I know this has been dicussed before, but is it usefull to run a wideband o2 sensor for tuning on a dyno and datalogging using a xcal2?

Its not useful. Its mandatory if you want a good dyno tune. The boys at Logan will install a bung for the O2 sensor if you do not have lowers so they can connect the wideband equipment.

That is what you are suppose to do when tuning. The Xcal should let you tune your car but you do need the windband readout to know how to tune it.

By the way Chris if you look up "99 Cougar" on ebay you'll find a chromed out svt uim. I think I remember you looking for one. I also have a stock uim That I could sell you if you want. It's not polished though, but good to experiment on.

Are you talking to me? If so I already have one, have had it for more than a few years now. See my web page for pics: www.cardomain.com/id/blackcoog

Thanks though,

Chris
