I was wondering how much time, if any, would I lose on my 1/4 time if I removed all of the back seat stuff as well as replacing both front seats with racing seats. I'm thinking about making a wall back there for my 2 subs that are currently sitting in the trunk. I'm not even sure how much weight this will take away.

back seats will be about 50lbs and the front seats with be around another like 40 give or take when you add racing seats back into them so like a total of 90-100lbs roughly

Will racing seats bolt right into the OEM locations? Where are some common ones for our car? I'm looking into weight reduction as well...

^^^Corbeau.... I'm pretty sure they sell brackets that fit onto our car..

Are these racing seats locked down where you place them or can they be adjusted? My fiance drives my car sometimes and she is 5'1... I'm 5'9 or 5'10...

They have sliders.... so yes you can move front and back!
Also it's up to you if you get reclining or non reclining seats. :)

That's cool. May look into all of this in the near future. I just need to hit the lottery. ha

They're not extremely expensive.... But for that price you could do something else....Nitrous.. Headers....
But sometimes those black corbeau seats just yell buy me! buy me NOW

Ha, yeah. They would be done after the headers, intake, and exhaust.
IIRC, corbeau adaptor sits a bit high.
i guess if youre into that sort of thing, its ok, but i personally like to sit as low as possible.
I think EternalOne knows someone who can make custom mount that will use a existing bracket.. may want to pm him.

Definetly take out the seats and subs for your runs. Put it this way, I got my heavy ass ATX V6 to just over 2900 pounds on the track's scale with the removal of my back seats, front seat, subs/box/amp, spare tire, and all other useless stuff(cd's, floormats, etc.). You'll notice a difference in speed and handling right away.

To add, I've read numerous places that for every 100 pounds of weight removal, .1 is lost off of your 1/4 times.

That is not happy news for me. I just ordered two VX-2000's in black with Corbeau brackets and retractable three-point harnesses. Cheap? No, you really don't want to know how much it all ran me. But I wanted racing seats, and beins I'm a big n tall boy, I needed something with plenty of width. These were the widest I could confirm. Sitting high is not gonna be cool though, I'm 6'3", so I fit comfortable in the Cougar, but not by much . . .

Ive seen wider and taller, Ryan but they were a place that custom builds every seat to the driver.

I think they'll be find width-wise, my concern now is height, I would think the plate adapters would be very close to stock. I like sitting low, so I guess we'll just have to see.

I hope you got seat extenders, cause you gonna be in a heep of trouble when you try to sit in them and your knees are on the dashboard. I couldnt really sit in the car until I got my seat extenders from Corbeau. Im 6'1".
BTW: This thread is bogus.
