How do you send messages to people ???

I am trying to send a message text in PM to people on the Forum but I don't see a button when im in my folder box. All I see are Private messages, banning list, etc... etc... I see Send private message but everytime I click on it, it does nothing. Help please!!!!

in the upper right hand corner of every post there is a lock symbol. click on that if you want to pm that particular person.
