This is going to sound a little crazy, but can anyone give me a list of the tools I need to replace the battery in an 02? Long story short I need to go change mine out tonight, and grab the tools I need on the way. Since I or my car are nowhere near my tools now, I need to just buy what I need on the way to the car.
So if anyone knows specifically what size socket(s) I need, and anything else that will be handy besides a screw driver, it would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I think most of the bolts/nuts are 10 mm... buy there might be a 13 on there also. Theres 2 bolts on the tie down strap that are 10mm... deepwell would be helpfull there. Then theres a 10mm on the negative and i think the positve is the same ... but i know the negative for sure because i disconect that to do almost anything to the car. Other than that maybe something to clean the connectors... sand paper and a dowel, or some small wire brush would be good.

Thanks man, you were spot on about the socket sizes!
And this is why everyone should keep a cheap socket set in their trunk.

not trying to steal post but it was about to end. is it nessasary to upgrade alternator if you add a small audio battery. such as a batcap or stinger.

Well it depends on how much power you are running to your system. Are your lights dimming? If they are not dimming at all then I would say you are fine. If they are dimming slightly then you could do the big 3 with either a 4 or 0 awg wire. Also make sure you are using atleast 4 awg for you power and grounds for your system. If your lights are dimming very bad after this then you could try a second battery or an alternator. I currently have about 2000+ rms between 3 amps and my lights don't dim bad at all. I have 2 optima red tops, 2 runs of 0 awg. wire and did the big 3 with 0 awg wire. But I'm still trying to find a 200+ amp alt for the i4 as I will probably soon add another 1400 rms. If any one knows of an alt that fits the i4 let me know please. Sorry for hi-jacking the thread.

Sonza68 is running a small race battery with out any electrical upgrades at all. Its not much more than a motorcycle battery, very light for his autocross tastes.
