View Full Version : Dyno at Fest

I'm currently talking with DeWayne from Logan Motorsports about bringing their portable dyno to CougarFest. DeWayne and Keith have both expressed an interest in our community and would be interested in bringing the dyno to Fest. However, they DO run a business, and bringing the dyno would not be free to them.

With that in mind, I'm looking to get an idea of how much interest there is in a dyno at Fest, and how much people would be willing to pay to have their car on the dyno. Please keep in mind, the greater the number of cars willing to participate, the better a price break they can work out with us. Please be honest when answering this poll and feel free to chime in with any comments.

For everyone's information, standard rates at LMS are $85 for three pulls on the dyno. They would also be willing to do dyno tuning on site, the rates for that are $150 per hour, $30 for a custom chip burn and $20 to install a bung in the lower O2's if you do not have them.

Consider me interested, but not certain.

If its close to $50, I would be down.

I'd be interested in the entire dyno then test and tune ONLY if my 3L swap and whatnot is complete by that time

Can I get someone on the Fest comittee to shoot me a PM about this? I have some preliminary information.

Also, if you're voting, can you state your intentions (full tuning vs. just dyno pulls)? That will have an effect on how much of a price break can be given.

Pm sent... I'll post the info directly in our section if someone else has not yet asked for the information...

thanks!

Just dyno runs for me... i'll be doing the tuning on my own. Just want to show off the beast when it is finished.

Will they bring any SCT X-CAL2's with them that they can sell along with their tuning?

If I do it, it will be tuning. I have enough runs that I have a good idea how much it's putting out.

My car isnt fast by any means, but would be nice to see what the actual numbers are.

My vote is for considering it if the price was lower.

I voted not interested since I won't have my cougar there.

I can speak with them about that.

I'd be very interested in getting it dynotuned with chipburn and the whole shabang, O2 bung included.

If he's willing to tune it and reburn my ADC chip, I'm down for sure! I'll hold off on dyno runs now because I'm sick of ADC and their shatty reflashes!

Count me in!

Yea, we'd have all of our tuning products there, hopefully we won't run out, so we'd need an idea of how many to bring. We'll have SCT MAF's there, probably 80-90mm Ford MAF's, SCT chips, XCal2s, etc. We can re-burn or reflash ANY SCT product, and ADC uses SCT stuff so we could do that. Basically when we bring the dyno anywhere, we move the entire shop with us. We have exactly the same tuning capabilities on the road as we do at the shop. That even includes dyno fans and such, so you can expect the same quality work that you would get at our shop. We don't like to compromise, which is kind of why we have such an odd dyno, it allows us more freedom on the road.

You can count me in for sure then! I can't wait to see what power you guys can get out of my 3.0L

P.S: LMS Kicks A$$!

I highly encourage everyone to visit their website, view the cars they've tuned and the results they've pulled out, and email Keith or DeWayne with any kind of questions you may have, or even give them a call, they always pick right up.

I am down 100% for tuning. Are you local to the indy area? If so i am down for dyno tuning regardless if its through cougarfest or not.

I have the Xcal2 tuned for my car now by Hyptonic Illusions. (not dyno tuned) You'll be able to reflash it right?

Logan Motorsports
01-27-2006, 01:29 AM
No, we aren't "local" to indy, but it's about a 3 to 3 and a half hour drive to where we are depending on where from indy you are. We can reflash the XCal2, you are correct sir!

Well well well, if you can flash Kenny's XCal2, can you flash us all in the parking lot?? :naughty::naughty::naughty:
God I hope not!

Well ****, if I can get a dyno tuned X-Cal 2, I think I might just have to go for the whole sha-bang as well. I hate bouncing off the rev limiter on a daily basis, I gotta get that thing raised, along with all the other advantages of a dyno tune.

Judging from the responses I've been getting we may need both. Logan Motorsports will be there the entire weekend though.

I'll most likely be in for a full tune, as well. We will most likely only have time to get a base tune on my car before fest, I'd definately be interested in dialing it in. ;)

I doubt the hotel wants us doing high RPM runs on our cars after dark. ;) Then again, we did the SPL last year later at night, and they didn't have a problem with that.

I would be interested if price was cheaper and I get my headers by then

Around $60 and I'm in. Most likely going to be at CF... would love to have everything tuned perfectly. Hopefully by then I'll have NAWS ;), headers, and CAI. Would love to see what the ATX 3.0 is running.

Dude . . . if you're getting tuning its gonna be more than $60.

Just keep time in mind. It can take a little while to tune a car if it's
got issues...Would this go on for 2+days?

I'm down, I already have a test pipe with
a wideband bung installed and I should have the car somewhat tuned
by the time I get there maybe you guys could finish it off.

BigBalledOX
01-30-2006, 05:24 PM
They should be there the whole time. I'll have to talk to Keith and DeWayne about it to get mroe details, I'm sure they want to enjoy some of it as well and not be a total working vacation for them.

EternalOne

For sure, if they tune my car while I'm there, I'm getting them plastered! :D
