Anyone have any recommendations on brake pads? I'm replacing mine this weekend and was just wondering if theres any brands your fancy to. I was just gonna head up to autozone and pick up a pair of their decent ones, eh. After test driving brand new cars with all wheel disc i've realized my car used to brake like that too :) In fact, it's always been my favorite part of the car!

When I did my brakes on my red car I just got the best pads autozone had in stock (I don't remember the brand), but they have worked well for me.

If the autozone you go to has the Ceramic pads, their pretty good but are only at a few diff autozones. Idk why its like that, but for w/e reason when I worked at Autozone I learned their pretty slim pickins on their ceramic pads. I myself us Mintek A/F pads that have worked out pretty well. I had to order these tho. If they don't have the ceramic pads their carbon metallic ones are pretty good, and deffinately a step up from their basic ones. Just thought I'd let you know from my experience working there.

When I went to Advance, they had 3 grades: el-cheapo, just fine, and too much. I chose the JUST FINE brand. It's a semi-metallic compound; good balance between performance and practicality. if I was racing more, I'd go with the high-end pad, but for a daily driver, the medium-grade is best all-around. I've only experienced brake fade one time in the almost 3 years I've been using them.

Cool cool. Ok. I got a looksy at my brakes last night and the rear rotors need replaced, and the brakes all around should be changed. However, i was concerned that the passenger side pads had less then half the meat of the drivers side pad. Could that be caused by driving on that bent rim for a few thousand miles?

Andy. Were you talking about the Duralast brand? I remembered you said you went with middle ground and that's what I got, but I'm not very happy with the pads at all. I liked the stock braking, and it seems like I downgraded in the braking department with these pads. They're lifetime warranty though. The next step up was like 40 bucks, rather then 20.

Man, I really don't remember what kind they were. That blows...

Ahhh.. Ok. :( Do you possibly remember how much they cost?
I wonder if they'll take a trade in? I'm sure just replacing the front's with a better pad would do the trick. For 57k those stock pads still had life in em, Bosch is a very nice brake pad.
