svt focus 6 speed tranny question

would the SVT focus 6 speed svt tranny fit in the cougar, i have the 2000 svt contour engine

The real question is "why?". It is not a strong transmission, and it isn't geared properly for a 170-200hp/160+tq engine.

as fett said, the gearing isnt the best. IE- in sixth gear your at 3 grand when your doing 70, compaired to the mtx-75 where you in 5th at 3 grand at 80

IDK where you got that from but with my car at 70 mph in fifth gear I'm at 3,000 rpms....

1st: 35.38 MPH
2nd: 56.55 MPH
3rd: 83.46 MPH
4th: 117.5 MPH
5th: 157.18 MPH (Drag Limited to 143 MPH)

For reference, stock tire is 215/50 R16 = 24.46"

I'm not sure where all the gears top out for me but I know 3rd is just over 70mph, and 5th tops out at about 135mph. That's with the 4.5 Final drive and B1 gearset.
