View Full Version : Heh. Another Photoshop Request...

To all the PS Gods on here I have a small request. Its nothing along the lines of a color change, body kit addition or anything, but rather just painting a small portion of my hood red. The problem being there is a hairline crack in the center of the hood, right above the latch. I was thinking of maybe three alternatives on covering it up. The first one being that the hood is done in the typical NECO 2 tone fashion, only, the front 6 inches or so of the hood be painted red and the whole scheme flowing together. Option 2 is a reverse NECO 2 tone: the sections normally painted would be left CF and the center section painted red, except the V in the middle. Option 3 would be a linear splash kind of deal that I'm having trouble describing. I guess the best way to say it would be along the lines of "spikes" extending from the front following the contours of the hood coming to a point 3/4 of the way up the hood, outlined with silver pinstriping to match the rims. Here are a few pictures of my car. To anyone that accepts this small challenge, Thanks! I will owe you a beer at Fest (or 6 heh).

This one is before the carbon fiber hood (im not too worried about the fenders) in case it makes chopping a primarily red hood easier.

Once again, Thanks Guys!

Option 1 - Passe. Been there, seen that.
Option 2 - Not bad. Kinda unique
Option 3 - Hm... I like it.

I think the 1st one that Matt made looks the best. That sucks about the crack in the hood though. Where'd you get the hood from? Sorry to sidetrack here.

Insurance paid for it from hail damage. They gave him the fenders and hood... even being CF.

Eh, The crack was a result of the hood getting sat on. I bought it from CC and it showed up perfect. 3 days later is a different story.

Option 3 would look pretty good, although I would have the paint following the lines in the hood. I'm getting the FinalStretch decals from teamNECO.com (image here (http://teamneco.com/store/detail.php?id=59)) and I wonder if that hood scheme would match the decals. Time to put my imagination to work. I think option one will be the winner (although the corners wont be so rough, the line at the front will be leading into the ones up the side.)

Thanks for all your help though! I owe you one!

Don't go with option 2, I did mine that way only with black and silver. Haha

Yeah, after seeing it I dont like that idea too much. On another note, does anyone know how to repair cracks in CF? Is it even possible?

not sure how to repair carbon fiber, but I debated option 2 awhile back and just did it. I think it helps pull off the two tone look of my car with the ground effects. Heres how it turned out for me:

That's kinda tight. The silver around the bottom looks like a special edition Monte Carlo. It's different... I like!

Yeah, thats pretty nice lookin. Hmm. I'm starting to have 2nd thoughts about that scheme, especially once I get my CF accents applied. Maybe a black wings west body kit would truly bring it out.
