I had an engine swap (from 2l to 2l) and along with it my mechanic recomended to replace the clutch while the transmission was out . So I bought a SPEC stage 1 clutch, but since I've had the car back I can't put it in gear with the clutch to the floor, I have to keep the clutch half way up.
Last night it started working perfectly, I could shift gears with the clutch all the way down. Then today I speed shifted once, and then when I came to a stop I noticed I started having the same problem.
SPEC claims that since we didn't bring the flywheel to a machine shop to get it regrooved or something along those lines, and that is "probably" the problem.
My mechanic doesn't want to take the transmission back out, because aparently he thinks it's my fault for getting an aftermarket clutch, and that I should have gotten an OEM and there wouldn't have been problems.
I don't know if it has something to do with syncronizing the gears? Or possibly my mechanic is a dumbass and installed the clutch wrong?
I just want some advice or maybe information from people who have had a problem somewhat like this.
