Don't flame, just answer. lol
I'm getting a 3.0 and I was wondering which would be best to do, the full 3.0 swap, or P&P the 2.5 heads. I know I need custom EGR and Fuel rail for the full swap, what exactly is that? How would I go about doing that, I guess I really don't understand. Thanks guys

P&P 2.5L heads is the worst setup because of oil starvation issues. Although there are people that haven't had any trouble with hybrids. There are also quite a few people that have stock V6 Cougars and Contours that are fine. Those that blow their motors are mainly from oiling issues. In that case the 3L heads are better with more oil passages. The full 3.0L swap is next, then full 3L swap with SVT cams, and then ported oval port heads with SVT cams mated up with SVT intakes. I'm beginning to doubt the differences between the last two. If they are different it isn't buy much. I know we need dynos to prove it though so I won't argue it further.
For power output the full 3L is probably the lowest output in the 185hp range. The full 3L with SVT cams, hybrid and ported oval port have all been puting out 190-220 depending on supporting mods.

I am thinking of doing a Full 3l swap with SVT cams... I was told to use a 04+ Escape motor... found a couple in my area with less than 30k for about $1,000.

Hello Nathan,
Thank you for using our online search. In response to your questions;
Shipped - $1150
Parts included – engine block, cylinder heads, valve covers, oil pan, intake manifold and timing cover
Condition is Grade A (means real good)
The engine is very new to our inventory and with such low mileage (28K), it will be the first to go.
Please give me a call so that I can help you out with any other questions or to place your order.
Thanks
Does this sound like a winner? By the way its an 04 Escape motor. Leaves me about 1200 for parts... Can a good 3.0l full swap be done? What all will I need to buy/use from 2.5 for my car with this motor for a full swap?

Did that include everything though? He said this motor just came in not too long ago. I don't want to risk getting a bad motor that has been sitting up for a little while.

Someone told me to get an 04 escape motor .... plus its 2 years newer. I'm not paying for it so if there isn't anything else that someone recommends or has something against these motors let me know. :)

Wow $1000 is a lot for a 3L. The intakes on the escape motor won't fit under your hood. You need a 3L from a Taurus/Sable. In that case you also need to swap the engine mount, oil pan, oil pickup, windage tray, and timing cover. Were if you went with a Escape engine you wouldn't need to.

So which is the easiest and cheapest motor to put in my car? I want as less amount of modification as possible... my uncle is doing this swap, he knows a lot about vehicles, but its on his own time so I want it to be simple and quick. ha!

Well the easiest would be to do a full 3L Escape engine. Then you'd have to buy a Taurus/Sable upper intake. Swap the valve covers over, all the accessories, sensors, modify the block, build custom fuel rail, built custom EGR, and hook it all up.

Quick. Cheap. Reliable. Pick any two man.
I really think you need to do a lot more reading and researching before starting on this. You haven't even begun, and I already see one concern, which is that you seem to be wanting to simply pull a 3L block out of the junk yard and drop it in to your car. If you're doing it right, you'll tear it apart and inspect it thoroughly before chucking it in the car. Engines can go to **** at any mileage, just because its a low number doesn't mean the engine is in good shape. You don't want to have to put another engine in because something you could have caught if you had torn the block apart went to crap on you because you didn't look.

I am researching the best I can... I wish someone would message me on AIM at Nafunu32. I have two weeks top to find a motor. I am without a car and I'm using my girlfriends right now, but we are about to be finished, so im going to be carless. lmao! So I need a full 04 escape motor (with under 30k miles and can prolly find one for 500 bucks?) tear it down, check it out, and put a taurus UIM on it? Mod the fuel rail and egr and I'm pretty much set?
