ok i pretty much post everything realted to my build-up here so move this thread if need be....

After extensive inspection of ll the PS stuff, i removed the serp belt and spun the pulley, only to reveal PS fluid leaking from right underneath it and all down the timing cover and onto the ground. So this shows that my hypothesis for a faulty pump were correct.

I then removed the pump from the car (major PITA btw:disgust: )
and took some pics for you guys to confirm my theory.

At first i thought maybe the system line might be clogged and forcing PS fluid to burst out of the pump..... am right?

Here is the pump out and on my desk......see anything?

see the fluid all over the pump here?

any ideas? i really think its leaking from that fitting.....bad threads maybe?

But don;t forget, i had this EXACT problem on the first start-up and after i pulled the motor to replace the head gasket and oil pan, i went and got this CURRENT pump from a junkyard.....chances i got a messed up pump just like my original?

why does this crap happen to me.......:banghead:

why not buy a new pump? For the amount of time and money getting to and from the wreckers, plus cost of a used power steering pump, would it not be worth it to buy new?

And year, threads could be worn, it's looks like that has been removed a few times as well based on the scratches and discoloration around the surface of the bolt.

I'd vote new pump as well. You are so close, and all it'll take is a trip to your Ford dealer. Man, that must be exciting! I love getting projects together!!!!

Man, I love the look of that intercooler......get it dyno'd get it dyno'd!!!! I wanna see some power numbers!!!! <----Sorry, turbos excite me....

Did you get new Teflon seals when you installed the hoses?

If those seals are just the slightest bit mangled they will leak like crazy. 1000+ psi will do that to things, I found out the hard way....

You could also pick one up from a junk yard. They normally have warrenties and it will be a hell of a lot cheaper. Expecially on a part that you can install easily.

on the first start up i had this problem, and went to a junkyard and got this one that also leaks horribly. i dont think i wanna do the junkyard thing again:(

I would gess it is a bad line and not the pump.

Yeah if both were leaking maybe the threads on the line you have pictured above is messed up. Your suppose to put new teflon tape on the end of it when you screw it in each time.

well, i went to the auto parts store and they sell pumps, but without the two lines. soooooo the guy at discount recommened the teflon tape, so im going to remove the line and put it on there and hopefully it will seal up. thanks for the help!

Too much teflon tape will just make it leak.

Take that all off, clean any crap off the threads and do 3-4 wraps around the threads. Wrap the tape so that when you are threading the fitting together it does not unravel the tape.

Got it?

Too much teflon tape will just make it leak.

YES, teflon tape is meant to close the gap between the threads, more than a couple wraps just defeats the purposes.

[edit: reminds me of a few of my aquarium plumbing mistakes]
