I bought my '00 with cloth semi-power seats, the ones that had a power switch for the driver seat going up and down, and a handle for back and forth and reclining. I recently swapped these seats with leather full-power seats from a '99 cougar. When installing, i realized that the plugs from the new seat don't fit into the plugs from the original seat. Currently the new seats are bolted down into the floor and the plugs arent connected.

My questions are:

- Is there any way to modify these plugs that they will retain the full-power options?
- Would i have to get the original plug from the '99 cut from the car and connect the wiring in my car? Would that work?
- Is there perhaps some kind of a converter plug that i could use instead?

Has anyone ever done this? Please help

If you can get the plugs from the doner car that would be the best. That way you could unplug them if you ever want to take them out again. If not you should be able to just cut off the old plug and directly wire in the in ones.

There should be 2 wires. Cut off the connectors and solder the two together then heatshrink the wires. Make sure you know which side is the B+.
