Greetings from the North.

So in the new update threads in the Cougarfest section, Eternal1 has mentioned that it might be helpful if the individual chapters had some sort of a fundraiser for Cougarfest.

I know we have a hard enough time getting everyone together for a meet, but since a large numbers of Keystoners attend fest every year it might be nice if we could come up with an idea to help out and raise some funds.

I'm not sure what we could do...other than put Mandy and Adam in bikinis for a car wash...but I would be willing to help out with whatever I can. I could bring the DJ gear to provide music if whatever we decide to do could benefit from it. A little kickback for some of the fuel costs would appreciated though, if that happens to be the case :)

Post up your thoughts!

Thanks for posting Wade.

From what I read it is going to be in Inday...again. I am interested to see how many people go with it being there again. Not sure if I will be going to Indy again. Two reasons I would go...to see friends and the fact I have been to everyone (except for the original one that had 10 people). I am a traditional guy and hate to break traditions. My 8 year old coug (by the time CF is) will not be running drag strip or autox this year. So we will see. I had 2 points with this post...1) express my feelings on CF 2k6 and 2) doesn't matter if i go or not you can count on my to help with a fund raiser. Most likely with the fund raiser being done, we can put our raffle prize money towards that. That was between $25 and $50 bucks based on the last two years.

**edit** - to add on to what Wade says below me...I guess that is my other furstration...Indy does not have enough draw for me to pull myself away from my business plus money is tighter then [fill in your dirty mind here]. I think I am more disappointed then anything with Indy again because it won't pull me away. Ah well, can't have everything you want I guess...only most of it :) I am about a 20% of making it. Can't think of any ideas at the moment for fundraiser.

In all honesty I give myself about a 40% chance of making it...money is just too tight. That doesn't matter though...I'll do whatever I can to help raise money to help the event continue to happen. Maybe by the time I'm 40 I'll be able to go...lol

Any ideas for a fundraiser?

I have to agree with Keith on this. I have a feeling that I'm not going to go to fest this year because of it being in Indy. I mean two years in a row, fine, but three years, nah that's ok. The main reason I enjoy being on the boards and going to meets is to see new places and meet new people. Indy is the same place, same people, so I might not even go just because of that. We should have our own thing somewhere, or we should go to Cedar Point after fest, like they usually do.

But anyways, I disgress. Whether I go to fest or not, I will donate whatever is requested...within reason WADE!

Why dont we all just go camping in Pa somewhere that weekend? The 500 plus dollars in room, board, and gas could easily be reduced to MAYBE 100 for a weekend trip camping somewhere scenic like the poconos or something. Pick somewhere rather centralized. I know i will not be traveling to Indy, esp if my homeboys are sitting tight. Money is an issue for me as well. Lets plan a meet for the Friday night untill sunday of cougarfest. We dont want to compete with fest, but anyone that stumbles apon our threads can come. It would be nice to have others travel our way once in a while, or even have it closer to Cali for once. I think Indy was just "easier" because connections and info was more accessable. I would never be able to plan an event so big, but if we had our own big summer meet then, i think i could plan something nice.

edit: and by centralized, im not refering to the state, im refering to the centralized location of members that can and would attend.

Yeah I'm up for camping!! That would be great! I have a lot of camping stuff...well me and my parents do. I have a tent..actually two but the one isn't in the greatest shape. The other one is a four person, but fits two people comfortably. Anyone want to stay in my tent? ;) :naughty:

Anyways, that sounds good to me.

Eh...I'm up for a camping trip, but not to take the place the same time as fest. I'd love to go to Cougarfest, wherever it happens to be held...for the same reason as anyone else - to meet people, see the cars, and have a good time. We can do a camping trip anytime...we don't need to boycott fest to do it. Poor Lee tried to organize a camping trip every weekend last summer, and we all kept ignoring him...lol

Anyway, this thread is about a fundraiser to contribute to the Cougarfest fund....not to plan what we're doing if none of us go :)

Yes, exactly Wade. Sorry if I started steering this thread the wrong way.

Now...for fundraiser ideas?...

Are we to donate money or raise money? Or doesn't it matter?

I don't have anything donate except some good old-fashioned hard work, and I'm sure other don't either, so I though we as a chapter could organize a way to raise some money to donate to the fund.

Ya know...a fundraiser? :)
