I don't really like the way my fiberglassed door inserts came out. I am sure I could put some more fiberglass or stip them down correctly and start over. I get cracks because when I originally took off the cloth, I didn't take off all the foam.
So anyway, besides roughing up the fiberglass w/ some sandpaper, it there anything else I should do.
I cover my inserts before when they cloth w/ vinyl, but it would stretch enough, or the glue wasn't strong enough. I don't want to have to keep rubbing it in as soon as it sits in the heat. so does anyone have suggestions on where to buy fabric, and what glue to buy and where. I would prefer national chains rather than ordering over the internet (so I can see it in person)
Thanks
Brian

If you just want the OEM cloth thing, I'll trade you straight up for my stock ones. I don't mind a little work, I'm good with those "fix-er-upper" things.
We've both got 99's, so it shoudl work fine. PM me if you wanna know more or if your interested.

Thanks for the offer, but it would probably be easier to take you stock ones off and stip them down totally (padding and all) and do it yourself to do it right. I couldn't in good conscious trade you because it would probably be more work because you would have to take off the fiberglass resign I put all over them. But once again thanks for the offer.

just out of curiousity....did you use fiberglass mat as well? or did you just apply resin? resin alone is going to crack like crazy...but with mat on there you shouldnt get any cracking...even if you left some foam on there...put a nice layer of filling putty on top and sand and you should be good..
the strongest glue i found was at Home depot...it was a spray on i cant remember wqhat it was called though...it was in the paint and cualking section...something 40 or maybe it was 90...lol sorry bud..aside from that contact cement is next..but be sure it doesnt soak through the fabric you chose to cover it with...and use a roller (like the one you get with Dynomat) and a hair dyer to help you out...

Yes I did use just resin and therefore it did crack...first fiberglass project. I could get the mat and go back, but it is winter here and I don't feel like stinking up my house. So I figured I would just cover them for now and mat them in the summer. However the last fabric I used was not flexible enough, and the glue was probably not the best and my backs kept coming off then eventually my fronts, and I wanted to avoid this problem again.

to find the right glue just go to a auto upholstery shop and inquire.
