... one of the screws under my steering wheel/column while working on my car today, anybody know if these things actually have some sort of part number?

The cover seems to hold relativly securely but there is a little slack because of that missing screw...

Thanks!

Nick

Take the other one and go to an Autozone or Lowes/Home Depot. They have a chart you can pop the screw in to get a matching part #.

I'm not in the U.S. (Canada) so not all of these stores exist here but you're right, I might get lucky and find something similar in a car part or hardware store (my guess is I have more chances of finding this something with a Torx head in a car part store though).

Thanks!

I'll mail you one if you really need one. I'm sure I can part with an extra.

If you decide to do that, make sure you use a bubble envelope.

They have something called Canadian Tire up there that's similar I think. Or Pierre says.

Yep... It is one of the place I intend to go but I am not sure they'll have it though... I think I would have more chance at Home Depot (we do have that) as if I remember well they have a lot more choice than Canadian Tire (I must confess though that the last time I went in that aisle (sp?) I wasn't looking for automotive screws...).

I actually have two Canadian Tire close to where I live (one of them is actually in my hometown) so I'll go to both of them in order to augment my chances of finding a replacement (they don't always offer exactly the same things though usually it only goes one way (one of them offer every thing the other offer + other things)).

Thanks!

Actually, I had a laugh at this because Lowe's is beginning to expand into Canada later this year I believe. I work for Lowe's and they've all been so excited about it...

take the same bolt on the other side and if worse comes to worse...go to ford. I had to do that a few times....then I started taking every bold I could when I took apart wrecked cougars....I think I have like 4-500 dash screws now lol

try Brafasco...they are open to the public and they were really good with me when i lost a couple bolts for other various projects...and the guy just gave me the bolts...as long as you have one of them they can find a match for it...they have every bolt known to man there...
