i just installed my intake and the engine light is coming on, i did a read on the engine and it says that there is a problem with IAT (intake air temperature.) Does anybody know what to do about that?

put your Air Intake Temperature sensor there...lol
you must have left it dangling under the hood somewhere

or use duck tape
duct tape wont eliminate the problem he is having. if the AIT sensor is not in the intake it is reading the temperature under the hood which is causing the problem

Funkboy316
01-11-2006, 11:46 PM
that should do it...you may need to unplug the battery for a couple minutes to get rid of that CEL

so what happens now... does he just reset it by unpluggin the battery or simply run the car for a while. isn't it supposed to clear up if the car doesn't find any errors after 3 complete cycles or something?
Funkboy316
01-11-2006, 11:48 PM
yes but 3 complete cycles takes longer than unplugging the battery for a couple mins.......goof

01-11-2006, 11:48 PM
i did that before i plugged the AIT in should i do it again

true. reset the neg. cable for 10 minutes. i suggest also re-learning the idle by letting it idle for around 10 minutes after u plug the battery back up.

only if you still get a CEL i would reset it again, if no CEL just leave it be

now that we're talking about cel's, help me on this one.
i was getting a bank 1, sensor 2 which is the lower rear one. i replaced it with a factory o2 sensor. got a good deal and i know that was the correct part number. anyways, i still get the same cel code for the same o2 sensor. i haven't taken off the battery but i've driven it for a while like that. i even reset with an obd2 thing but it still came back.

c'mon u guys... not all of us are mechanically-savvy. i myself am afraid of replacing some stupid headlight wires even with the battery off cuz i'm afraid i'd ruin something.
give the n00b a break :stupid:
