View Full Version : Car pulling left when applying brakes

Before you all jump to conclusions that this is a brake problem please continue reading.
My car started to jerk left (almost like a pull/dive) about a month ago.
A machanic checked out all the brakes and said they were fine. Anyway, I ended up driving away with it. I noticed later that the steering wheel is also off center and to the left.
I took it into my trusted friends and had them check it out. They noticed that my right front caliper had seized and needed to be replaced, which I did.
The car still pulled.
I then got the left front control arm essembly replaced... bushings and all.
Still the car pulls to the left, not to mention it was a pain in the ass to replace the front left control arm because part of the transmission is right above it.
Needless to say the car is still pulling/diving/jerking (however you want to put it) to the left.

Anywho, I'm not 600 dollars later and still have the same issue. I have had 5 guys check out my car for hours and they say everything is fine on the front end EXCEPT for the right front bushing... it has the same wear as the left front which I already replaced.

I would replace the right control arm to only, at this point they as well as I are skeptical of it causing the car to pull left hard.

PLEASE any help of suggestions would be appreciated!
Has anyone else had this problem before and fixed it??

i had the exact same issue on my acur vigor, and i had to change the brake pads, rotor and wheel bearing. none of those were the issues the only reason i did that was pads were low on meat and rotors could be surfaced, also the bearing are pressed to the hub and needs to be replaced. but besides all that my car was pulling to the left also and it was my brake line, i believe it was my left on but i replaced them both. check that out replacing the lines fixed my issue

Take your caliper off. Try to compress the piston. If you are unable to, open the bleeder screw. If the piston can now be depressed, it is your brake line.

Also, the bad line will be on the same side that the car is pulling.

Calipers, brake hoses, control arm... they have all been replaced and the issue is still not resolved.
It now seems to be caused by a tranny mount that is shot and making the whole front end of the car buckle!!

I'm really starting to wonder about this car. I baby it and it only has 135k on it. Is it normal for the whole front end to be falling apart!!

Also.. it never got hit.

They ARE all wearable items. 135,000 is a lot of miles.

Yeah, and its not even the control arms... just the bushings. But the bushings are only sold with the control arms.
Anyways, I'm getting my motor mounts replaced now since they are toast and I hope it fixes the problem... I'll let you guys know for sure.

BTW.... I only have a 135,000 Km on it, not miles.
