So its about 10 pm tonight(thursday), heading over by my father's to visit for a little. Im on a 3 lane highway, not much traffic....

So Im cruising along in the fast lane coming up to a traffic light and a kid in a silver Ford Probe flys up past me only to jam on his brakes for the upcoming light .THOSE ALERGIC TO RICE, PLEASE LEAVE THE THREAD NOW. So i glance over and see the widest aluminum wing (like landing gear grade, that big!) and a slanted fartcan out back. So there is one car each in front of us, then open highway for as far as I can see. Light turns green and the cars in front of us start to accelerate. The Probe then cuts into the slow lane and starts to get on it. At this point, the SUV in front of me drops into the middle lane, leaving me in the fast lane and the Probe in the slow lane, him about 5 car lengths in front of me. Since Ive been racing at the track, Ive all but lost my urge to street race but this was a perfect oppurtunity to give the Coug a workout. Im going about 50 mph, no traffic whatsoever in front of me...

I hear him go to WOT and I did the same. My MSDS/SHO Shop YPipe/Flowmaster Duals scream as my car downshifts to 2nd. Im reeling him in faster than I thought I would. Within about 10 seconds, Im neck and neck with him, only to keep pulling hard. At about 115, I realize Im doing over twice the speed limit so I shut it down, me being about 3-4 car lengths in front of him. Of course he keeps accelerating until he passes me, then begins to slow down.

I wasnt too sure what trim it was (4 or V6, ATX or MTX). Times like this though make me love my car .

Good kill man! Im having a harder time getting ricers to pick a fight with me in my town. Im also finding myself having some of the more horsepowered cars try me. :(

i would put my money on it NOT being a V6 5-speed.

Umm.. I think he could run with a 5 speed v6 no doubt, but not kill it like you did. More then likely it was either a 5 speed 4 banger (easy kills) or a auto v6 (easier kill)...

Either way, nice kill. Did you happen to see any embles? GT, SE... 16 " spoked swirlies... or 15 inch fan blades? What did the front bumper look like... If it was an SE or GT it has side skirts, the base has nothing special to it and no emblems or anything.

Didnt really see much since it was dark out, but the emblems were shaved and it had aftermarket rims so that didnt help.

It probably wasnt a V6 5speed, but it wouldnt suprise me if it was. A few years ago when all I had was intake and exhaust, I stayed DEAD EVEN with my buddies stock 96 PGT 5speed. He was in front of me accelerating on the highway and couldnt pull an inch up to about 85.
