I suggested in another thread about a dinner/movie like when I first moved here. Marianne suggested doing gamespot (or whatever the heck that place is called).
Put up your ideas, preferances, credit card information, blah blah blah.. and we'll get something setup and planned.
Me, I think I'd rather do a dinner/movie than gamespot, as I think gamespot could get a bit pricey after parking, food, games and all that and those on a tight budget may not be able to make something like that.

I'm with Wayne, I'd rather do dinner and a movie. I like that idea. I think it's called Gameworks, right Marianne? I've never been there so I have no idea what that is. I'm up for hanging out again, but I'm stretched for time now with my new semester starting.
Anyone else want to do dinner and a movie?
Wayne, if it happens, you wanna be in charge of getting a date/time/place/etc since you suggested it?

sounds good . u know there is a movie place next to game works if some wanted to see a movie and others play games . Movie is good though plus we need a big place to eat cause last time some people was in each others laps .

I know this was awhile ago....but I think Joey called (maybe not...but I don't beleive I did) and tried to forewarn them that there would be a group of 12-15 coming, etc etc, and they didn't care?? Heh....I might remember wrongly though!! LOL It could just be that's my CRS kicking in... "Can't Remember ****" :rofl:
(Excuse me, I've had 3 shots of expresso... so I'm a little keyed up! Whoo!!!)

Hey Chad!!! I don't know where Gameworks is... but my guess is in Tampa?? .... But!! If it's next to the Ybor movie theatre, and that's the theatre you're referring to, then I won't be able to go to that one, that's 21 and up!!! Just thought I'd say something :grin;

the ybor movie theatre has some you don't have to be 21 to get into.
gameworks.com is in ybor, for $25 you get a card with 450 points on it that gets a few hours of fun, the food cost is the same as anywhere else, they also have cheaper cards like $10 card that get you 200 points or something but you get the idea.
we'll do whatever. movies, games, etc...
we're actually having our bachelor/bachelorette party there if anyone wants to join us (not as a neco event just to celebrate) it's on Jan 20th Friday night, pm me for details/time :)

you're supposed to post your's shane... :p
Yeh the premire is just 1 little part of that movie place . The ony thing is with Ybor is we will have to pay to park . Not sure how some feel about that considering we could all be spread out . So mabey we should just stick with the old AMC and Some place to eat that serves alchool

I myself an not big on the Ybor area, personally. I've been to that theater before. Though there is merit to the idea of some going to gameplace or others to a movie, you're at that point spliting the group (which may already not be that big).
I'm looking at $$ issues mostly:
dinner=$10-$15 (apx) movie=$8(avg) so about $20 a person or so....
Parking=$5(est), food=$6-$15(est) games=$25
total $30-$45 a person...
and I think we can have just as much, or more fun with a dinner/movie (besides.. things like gameplace isnt' really my thing...)

I'm a "No" for the Gameworks. Sorry Charlies.
Edit: I'm a "Yes" for dinner/movie!

Well, judging from the HUGE number of suggestions I've had, and the indifferance of others... looks like dinner/movie wins.
Now, what would be a good date for people to have this event? We'll shoot for Feb sometime, just to give peeps a bit more time to do whatever is needed. My preferance would be a friday or Sat night (Sat prefered), the 10th/11th or 24th/25th is best for me.

Any time before Valentine's day, I cannot make. Work is just too hectic then, after V-day is fine for me.
