Cheryl and I will be in attendance.

I'll be playing too.

As far as equipment goes, Skaters shouldn't need shoulder pads. everything else is recommended though.

Neither do I, but exactly how long we are there is up to the players, not the spectators. The plan is to get the arena for 2 hours cause they said they take a away a portion of that time with flooding, etc., even though we pay for it.

Hmm....How about a poll for what time.....

I voted after 11pm for 2 reasons.

1) The ice is cheaper - Usually
2) Chances are there wouldn't be anyone on at midnight and therefore, you could stay on for an extra 15 or so.

Also, if this is a bunch of people who haven't strapped on the blades in a while, or don't play very often at all then 2 hours is going to be way too long, trust me.

Even if you lose time from a flood (10 mins, MAX) you can usually make that up at the end in an 11:00 pm time slot.

I think you would find a lot of people are completely dead if you had the ice for 2 hours.

Housecat
01-09-2006, 05:37 PM
Also, you may want to confirm numbers before getting the ice. I doubt there's a lot of people that want to pay $20 - $25 to play for an hour if you don't have that many people.

[begin Psych-out] I've recently been suspended from Roller hockey for "Intent to injure" god damn pussy Yanks get all bent out of shape over a simple body check. So what if it's a non hitting league, I mean I would have elbowed him in the face if I intended to injure him....god.

98 Joe Szydowski 1/28/06

I still think 2 hours is best. We dont have to play hockey for 2 hours. It'll also give the spectators a chance to strap on some skates and just skate around for a bit. It'll be fun. ;)

Don’t worry!! The plan is to find 20 people and if we play after 11 PM we are looking at more like $15 a person......I don’t foresee any way that people will end up having to pay $25.

Also, with the amount of people we have I doubt we'd be able to play 30 minutes of continuous hockey. I'm gonna venture out and say most are out of shape and most also haven't played much ice hockey lately. So yes, there will definitely be time for the specs to come skate around. I see us playing like two 30 minute games before we're gassed out while the rest of the time is spent taking it easy and skating around.

No worries there, i talked to him the last night about it and he said he clicked it by accident, that it was the only way he could get into the forum or somethng. He's good at anytime.

So it looks like 90% of us are in for the last time slot.

okay I have run into a problem...

Fletchers Arena @ Ray Lawson & McLaughlin
is the only one that has arenas available between 11 and 1

They have 4.....#1 and #4 are free at the moment. (Which means we wouldn't be alone.)

For Non-city residents after 11PM - $163/hour
For City residents after 11PM - $130/hour

Biggest pain is they require payment at the time of booking.

Does this sound good or bad?
Are you willing to Pre-pay?
Do any of you live in the City of Brampton? (If not, I will just find another one because its not worth the extra $66 when we can easily go elsewhere)

Housecat
01-12-2006, 12:31 PM
Arena's always require payment when you book ice time. What do you mean we wouldn't be alone? We would have our own pad to ourselves.

I think that we should only book the ice for an hour. Two hours will be too long in my opinion.

The extra money divided between 10-12 people isn't that big of a deal.

If you guys want to trek out to Whitby, (30 mins from the 400 area) then ice can be rented still on Saturday for the cost of $125.

Oddly, I used to drink 4-5 Large or XL timmies per day. Got to a point where I couldn't pass the lows without going there for another one. So I quit entirely for a year and a half. Carl thats on the first post...I have down yourself and Joe as definites.

I guess the other people are waiting to get a definite location. I'm working on that though..... Sorry....

Everyone is going to have to Paypal Mike the money for the booking the rink but right now there is only 15 people listed. So unless we get 5 more its going to cost everyone like $23.

So everyone go find another friend :) ....preferably one living in Brampton cause that will save us an additional $4/per person.

Mike
01-17-2006, 12:09 PM
I think the best thing to do would be to start sending me $20/player. If it ends up costing us less, i'll give you the difference back. If it costs more, I don't mind fronting the difference.

We NEED to have the money before we book. If I don't get money from people, we can't book the ice, plain and simple.

If you want to PayPal the money to me, send me a PM and i'll give you my email address.

Eric, can you send it to me? LOL

I'm going to book tomorrow and hopefully I can convince the lady to give me a couple days to come by and pay, since we arent paying on a credit card.

Thats all assuming we can get the money ASAP

Thanks to Eric and his cousin its only going to cost $280

Well, I guess I can start accepting money. :)

mike_neri@yahoo.ca <---- send $20/person to that email address.

We only have a couple of days to make this happen. Lets hope that everyone is still interested.

Mike, if my knee is any shape to actually skate on would you mind if I paid the day of? It's too far off to tell espically since I'll be in Collingwood the weekend before and snowboaring was what had me immobilized until last Saturday. Hopefully my knee brace will help....,

IF you come out, you can give me some cash then. No worries. :)
