My question is how much do you with nitrous get your kit installed for. What all did you get installed, how many hours did it take them and what all did you get installed.

If you don't know enough to install it yourself and what is included in a kit you shouldn't be using it. Better do some reading or you will be installing an engine shortly after the N2O.

maybe some people just don't have the time to install it themself!!!! So before you start jumping on people and saying stuff like "if you don't know about it don't get it" ask them simple questions instead of being an a$$. Two of my buddies are running nitrous that I have helped install and still after that I had a shop do mine b/c of school and work I just didn't have time.

Shops want alot of money for the install. Get a book on Nitrous at your local book store like Borders read up a little and it should take a few hours of dedicated time and wham it's done. Make sure to ask the company what tools you need

No all I am saying is that is you don't know about go faster stuff then you don't know how to use it. Did you read what he said? What did you have installed apparently he knows nothing about N2O. You need to learn to walk before you run. I am just trying to save the guy some time in having to install an new engine after his first bottle. When you do mods like this you should know the ins and out of the system BEFORE you install it. That way when something goes wrong you know what the problem is.

If you haven't already there is a Nitrous FAQ further down this forum. Read it as it's a good start.

One of the mods really needs to sticky it in here. :disgust:

I have read the forced induction FAQ and asked questions from a few different people on the forums and made the choice not to go with this, or at least not yet.

Body kits don't put you and your car in danger. Nitrous is not a toy. If someone can't learn how to use it or knows nothing about it, they have really NO business having it on their car.

It might be difficult to find a shop to install nitrous. Due to laws and regulations. I think owning nitrous is legal, but having it hooked up is illegal while your on the street?

Secondly the shop will most likely need some additional paperwork stating that they are not responsible for the damage caused by the products they installed.

All that to me sounds like too much of a hassel. Especially since a shop will not take responsibility. That would scare me into thinking they could do crappy install work, break your car and cant be help liable for it.

Find a good weekend, plan it out in your head, have all the right parts and have the right tools. That alone should save you atleast a couple of hours.

Here in Chicago and near by suburbs take responsibility in installing it in your car. I think it depends where you live.

After owning 5 N2O equip'd vehicles and being pulled over in them at least 100 times, I can say I know of no such law. Perhaps its a state-based thing, but even in MI (where the cops are generally asses) I never got harassed about my Nitrous (even when the bottle was mounted in clear view of the rear window).

Does anyone know the laws on this specifically? It'd be interesting to know, since I'm installing bottles in two cars within a month.
