Yep, I've done gone and dun it. Bought a bike last week off a guy that works w/ my best friend. Great guy, moving to Dallas and just didn't wanna have the hassle of movin it. I threw out an offer and he took it so here it is:

'98 Suzuki TL1000R
Dual Yoshimura, K&N, Power Commander, and custom painted Olive Green Metallic, pretty much stock otherwise. Paid $3500 total for it. Only has 2700 miles on it. I took everything off last weekend to inspect; changed the oil, flushed the coolant, k&n looked brand new, changed plugs. I was amazed at how good of shape everything was in though. The only thing he said I would need was a new battery since it hadn't been driven in almost a yr and new frame sliders. Never been wrecked or dropped on its own weight. Just has some minor nicks on the right fairing. I also got a rear seat and a helmet w/ the deal :) I've already been out on it quite a few times around the neighborhood. Very nice, stable ride, and fast as hell. Little bigger than any 600 I had been on before, gonna hafta get used to that.
A big thankx to Chris for really introducing me to the sportbike community. Amazing, 3 months ago I thought I drove my friend's CDR not ever realizing it was his CBR (shaved decals). But yes, I was That ignorant. I have learned Soo much since then. Now I just need to take the classes, get my "M" license, get tags put on it, and insurance.

That is sweet man....I want a bike so bad (would save on gas doing around town) are you going to take the classes at OTC?? What do you know about the classes?? I've never been on a bike before and wasn't sure how they work.

Here's a Linky to the SWMO Motorcycle Training Center (http://www.learntoride.info/PostNuke/). Most of the classes just go 3 days. You start Fri nite in the classroom, then Sat & Sun you spend the whole day riding and learning basic manuevers and whatnot. The cool part bout takin those classes is that they count for half your "M" license. So when I pass the classes all's I gotta do is take the written test at the DMV and I'm done, don't have to worry bout someone following me around for the field test. Plus you get a good break in insurance.

That's cool.....like I said I've never been on a bike, so now that I know the classes aren't that long and work around my work. I might look into it.
