So i'm coming home from a night of playing indoor paint ball with some friends at about 3:30 am last night. About 5 miles from home my brake pedal starts to feel weak and spongy. By the time i get home my brakes are about completely gone and i'm forced to downshift and use the emergency brake pedal to stop. Good thing it was so late at night where there was nobody out on the roads. Otherwise i would of parked it somewhere and called a cab or something.
Anyways, it was too late to figure out what broke and i was too tired to care, so i went inside and went to bed. Got up today at about noon and, after getting some brunch and getting dressed, went out to start poking around on my truck.
Yep...blew another brake line...
For those that don't know, this is the third time i've blown a brake line on my truck. This time it was the passenger side front brake line. The only line i have left to blow is the supply line to both front brakes. I have yet to blow any of the rubber flexible lines. And of course, the factory had this line snaked around and underneath the power steering box (not the pump, but the gear box that the shaft from your steering wheel runs into). When i routed the new line i just went up and over the power steering gear box. My dad and i bled the line and then put everything back together. When we bled it the pedal was nice and stiff. But when i started the truck to take it for a spin around the block the pedal went dead again as if there was still air in the line.
Hell, i don't know at this point. I said **** it and gave up for the night. Tomorrow we're going to try and break those seized up bleeder screws loose on the calipers and see if we can bleed the system a little better. Other than that, i don't know what the hell i'm going to do...
I hope all your new years eve plans are doing well. God know i wouldn't want any of you to be stuck at home like i am right now...:banghead:
