Jack the car up. pull out the black plastic fenderwell area nearest to the sidemarker. feel around for the back of the sidemarker. there is a tab on the back on one side of the sidemarker that needs to be squeezed to let the sidemarker slide through the hole in the fender. repeat on other side. new ones just pop in from the front. 10 minute job per side.

U don't need to do that... At least i didn't. They come out on the outside. I used a plastic flat head screw driver. They pop right out.

I wouldnt suggest using a screw driver anywhere near your paint.... but supposedly you can push the whole side marker to the back, sqeezing that tab then pulling it out. At least thats what the instructions say, but that never worked for me so i just pulled the wheel well.

Thats why i used a PLASTIC one. Believe me, im not going to scratch my car bud with no screw driver!

You can also slide a credit card under it to push in the tab and remove them.

When I first started reading your post, I thought it was some smarta$$ comment...but you actually do it like this?

If you want to take 20 minutes to change two sidemarkers, do it that way. If you want to take 20 seconds to change two sidemarkers, do it the smart way.

Take a screwdriver and cover the tip with a cloth of some sort. Pop one side out, but don't use too much pressure or you might crack something. Repeat this for the other side. The one's you're replacing with can just pop right in from the front without using any tools.

I'd rather do it the right way and not risk breaking the tabs off, even though it takes a little longer. Also, any type of screwdriver does not come anywhere near my paint. Do it how you want. If you're strapped for time, do it the other ways. If you want to do it the safe way, do it my way.

they dont break that easliy, i cannot believe someone would go through all that trouble in removing sidemarkers.. 20 second job taking an hour. Just get a small flat head screw driver, cover it with a paper towel, stick it inbetween the gap, and gently pop it out. Ive taken my sidemarkers out atleast 8 times, for both sides... EZ task.

Dental floss or Credit card unless you like to do alot of work you could also pop of the fender .

I actually thought it was a joke posted by Fett at first to do all the other work.

jack up the car, put jack stand in place, remove wheel, take off inner plastic thingy, open door and remove all the screws to take off door, remove headlight, then remove fender from car, take fender inside and put on work bench, then take the side marker and just push it twards the rear of the fender....it should pop out, then just reverse the process and your good to go!!!!....sit down have a beer and admire your new side markers...you deserve it

hahahahaah wow something so simply gets turned in to something hard... no jacking required, dont have to take the wheel off, and u dont have to use a screwdriver to pry it off, this is my method so it might not be the *right* method but it was easy for me and only took 2 minutes. I turned the wheel all the way to the left to do the left side and vice versa. take a plastic screw cap of the top of the wheel well and i believe one or two from the back of the wheel well then takeone bolt under the bottom of fender stick ur hand in the space and squeezt the side marker reinstall new ones.. repeat for other side.. now ur done

Alot of helpful ways of doing it, When I first changed the bulb, I managed to braek one of the tabs and have to super glue the tab and reinstall it. I wish I could find some of the clear lens for cheap, any suggestions.

You can get the clear ones directly from ford. You just gotta ask for the ones from a 02, the C2's came with clears stock, some others also did.
