Ya know, I really love Christmas time...Always have ever since I was a little kid. But this year is the second worse Christmas I've ever had. So anyway, story time:

I have 2 dogs. One dog is MY dog, she's my baby. I've had her ever since she was a puppy and she is MINE!...my other dog is actually my boyfriends, but since he can't keep him at his place, and I have a big yard, he stays with me. Gage is big and clumsy, but he's sort of grown on me, but near as much as my dog, Lucy has. Ok, I live next to a creek, and it's become a weekly ritual that they get out of the yard and go play down by it. So friday morning when they got out, I didn't think anything of it. until I hear Gage let out a long agonizing bellow, and 2 hours later I finally find him, only to find that he's been shot. the way in which he was shot and the weather conditions lead me to believe that some kid was out hunting in the woods that morning and wanted to be a mean little b@st@rd, and tried to shoot Gage to kill him by aiming at his chest (he was shot broad-side), but instead missed and shot him in the leg right above his elbow. I finally get him back up to the house, and while waiting for Blake (boyfriend) to get to the house, I try to find Lucy. well, this was on December 16th. Since then, Gage is back from the vets, he's all patched up (nice hefty vet bill came with that as well), flyers have been put up everywhere, and Lucy is still no where to be found. I mean, i don't know if shes dead or alive, or what...
On the plus side, I have Gage, and they were able to save his leg,but his temperment is that of, "I have a broken leg but it's ok...Lets go chase a ball!!!!!" He's a very excitable dog, but for the next 8 weeks I have to keep him confined to his cage accept for bathroom breaks and eating/water breaks, and he doesn't understand...I can just see it in his eyes, and to make matters worse, he's starting to realize Lucy isn't here. Blake found Gage when he was about 6 months old, and Lucy sort of took over as surrogate mom to him. So it's hard...I just hate that it had to happen right before Christmas...

Anyway, I'm done with my rant, Hope everyone has a safe and merry christmas!
