I guess this one is all my fault, but why me?

Ok, so I'm on my way to work for our weekly 7:30AM meeting:disgust: and I'm running ahead of schedule so I deside to swing into Tim Horton's to grab a cup of Joe since I'm running on 4 hours of sleep. So I'm turning off Fishinger road onto a side road, and I guess I cut the wheel a little too sharp at the end of the turn, and bam, my rear wheel catches the curb. So, I'm a little disappoint that I have now scratched another beatiful polished stock 16" rim, but oh, well I'm getting ride of this car in a few months. So, I turn into Tim Hortons grab my cup of Joe, and curriosity gets the better of me, so I pull into a parking space, to check and see how bad I scrapped the wheel. I go around to the passenger side of the car, and what do I find, as expected a scrapped rim actually a little better then I anticipated, but I also find there is a huge whole in the side wall of my tire. A little pissed now, I grab my spare and commence take off the wheel, everything is going good untill I get to the last lug, and its a little tough to get off like maybe I cross threaded it the last time I put it on, but it doesn't look stripped, and I know i didn't cross thread it. So, I figured I must have damaged that a little too, no big deal I'll just force it back on, and replace this weekend, or so I think. I put the spare on, first 3 lugs go on fine, and when I get to the bad one it requires a little more force and doesn't turn freely, so I'm cranking that sucker on there when all of a sudden the stud just breaks off. So, now I have over an hour drive home tonight with a donut and only 3 of 4 wheel studs.

I guess the plus side to all of this, is that it was one of the bad tires which needed to replaced, and would have been replaced last weekend if the tire shop didn't **** up. I just hope I didn't bend the wheel, or damage the suppension. I guess I will find out Monday when I go in for tires, and an alignment.

EGAD. Thankfully it was on a tire that's on its way out, and it was a BACK wheel instead of a front. Sorry, Dan!

:banghead:

Sorry to hear that Dan. :( Do you work near Fishinger? I'm only maybe four miles from there in Hilliard, so if you're ever in need of a hand in a situation like that again, just give me a call. I'll PM my cell number for the future.

Even if I'm at work, I'm still not that far away (the MCI building on Britton), so if you can get me out of the developer's status meeting, call ;)
