Found two motors... one from a 02 Sable with 4,000 miles and an 01 Taurus with 1,000 miles. Both motors are $500. He said it comes with everything (heads, intake, ect) except the accessories. What would the "accessories" be considered? I'm guessing the alternator would be one of them, right? Would the alternator from my car fit this motor? Thanks for all the advice guys.
My car is 3/99 ATX

whats the companies name that you are getting them from?
Can they send you some pics?
What kind of warranty are they offering? Make sure you get something in writing. It'd be a waste to get it taken apart and find problems and be stuck with that engine.
Good prices as long as everything is OK.

Put it down or pass it.
The engines in the Taurus/Sable are limited to 2 main options:
3L Duratec - DOHC (Vin S) - The ONLY one that works.
3L Vulcan - Pushrod (Vin U)
The Vulcan also comes with a flex fuel package. (Vin 1 or 2)

i suggest you read the 3L FAQ and all the sticky posts at the top. You'll find out whether or not your accessories will work or not.

I dont think I'm going to put a 3.0 in there because I cannot afford 2,000+ installation. I was thinking it was a $1000 job. heh. How much is it if I use the heads from the 3.0?

my bad.
but man u can do the swap for roughly 2000 . i mean a straight 3l no svt goodies. tuned and all. most of ur parts from the 2.5 will swap over, timing cover, valve covers, oil pan and pickup. i am stating the cheap no fluff way.
