Hey guys I finished my 3.0 a few months ago. I have the ADC installed and everything was great until yesterday. I started the car cold just fine. drove it to the store and when I went to start it warm it just turned and turned. I could smell gas (assumed it was flooding from all of the start attempt). It finally started after like five minutes. It's been doing this on warm starts ever since. I have a returnless system so I don't have a real FPR. Any ideas. Plugs and such are all new, IACV just replaced a month ago, new fuel filter, I mean for all intensive purposes the drive train is all brand new. The starter is the old one, but it turns fine. Please help, thanks, Rob

Do you have a short ram on the car? Could be heat sink. I would also try removing the Chip and see if ADC made a mistake on hot start calibration. Could also be a faulty coolant temp sensor, IAT sensor, or even the IAC valve. Next time try putting the pedal to the floor while cranking. Doing that will out the car into clear flood mode and shut off the injectors during cranking.

I do have a short ram intake, The car started fine warm with the same chip before. I just chaged the IACV about three weeks ago and it started fine warm since then. The problem started yesterday. I'm confused.

What kind of plugs did you use?

Hmmm.... well I am not to sure then I will do some thinking and get back to you on this. Hope you get it figured out. I am sure you have checked your MAF connection (intake and wireing)

Check the connectors. I guess it is possible something wiggled loose. The connectors located on the passenger side of the rear valve cover can cause that issue. Unplug them and plug them back in. Then check the coil pack plug. Unplug it and plug it back in. On one of my 3L's I had an issue getting it started and then all of a sudden it started. I've heard that the pins in the connectors can get pushed in and won't make contact. Eitherway check the connectors it's an easy check. If you have a fuel pressure checker I'd check to make sure you are getting pressure. After you eliminate that it would have to be an electrical problem.
After thinking about it some more if it was a connector problem it wouldn't only do it at certain times so I'm not sure what to tell you. A connector issue would be more irractic unless I'm missing something. If you have a chip I'd contact ADC and talk to them about it.

I just threw a p0118 code immediatley after one of my hard starts. I'm assuming it's the engine coolant temp sensor. I did notice that my high speed fan is running all the time, but my temp guage is normal. What do you guys think?

Get the OBD software or have someone check the ECT and see if it is overheating. Your gauge might not be working.

Got it! Turns out that the wires to the ecu's ects were becoming frayed in one spot. I actually just spliced out the fray with a small amount of new wire. Problem solved. Back to finding Civics that're hankerin for a spankerin.

By "spliced" you mean cut the wires, wove them together, soldered them, and heat shrunk the whole mess. Right???
PLEASE do not say "crimped" in any way, shape, or form.

Cut, woven, and soldered. The only thing that should be crimped is hair in the 80's.
